If you need the location of your Initial.pak file, for Epic it is located here:
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\SnowRunner\en_us\preload\paks\client
Steam Initial.pak file is located in a different location. By default it is normally located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SnowRunner\preload\paks\client
If you changed SnowRunner's install location on Steam, then it is located on the Drive you directed the game to install to.
Example:
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SnowRunner\preload\paks\client
(Note: just change the Drive Letter to match your Drive location)
Edit:
I found the install instructions for the R-Physics Mod.
1: Download the ZIP file and extract the 4 folders to any folder.
2: Go to the game's install folder: "C:\User\EpicGames\SnowRunner\en_us\preload\paks\client"
3: Make a backup of "initial.pak" !
4: Open the "initial.pak" with WINRAR.
5: Once it's open, navigate to - [media] -> classes and copy the 4 folders from my mod and replace the existing files.
5: Play.
I am bad at web searches, sometimes I can't get Google to give me what I'm looking (maybe I just have a bad imagination) for which is why I love using forums for when I'm stuck.
Thanks again
You're Welcome, glad to help!
Note: Its not only you that have a hard time finding what you're looking for on the internet anymore. Social Media and Phones ruined the search engines. Before Social Media became a big thing, if it was on the net, I could find it right away; but now, it takes forever to find anything.
I've been playing around with Microsoft Co Pilot ever since they added it to Windows and I can find answers to many things much more quickly. It's much more intuitive to use and it's very smart, though they are still working out the bugs.
When you said to install the folders at C:\User\EpicGames\SnowRunner\en_us\preload\paks\client I checked and no such folders exist on my system. I'm guessing you either meant C:\users\"username"\Appdata\Local or ...AppData\Roaming. At C:\users\"username"\Appdata\Local there is an Epic Games folder but there is no SnowRunner folder, or any other game folder for that matter.
All I see in that Epic Games folder is two folders, one named EOSOveraly and another named Epic Online Services, neither of which contain a Snowrunner folder. The ...AppData\Roaming folder does not have any Epic Games folder.
I am stumped, I don't understand why the folders you mentioned to not exist. Btw I checked and I noticed that I also do not have these folders you mentioned here: C:\Program Files\Epic Games\SnowRunner\en_us\preload\paks\client so I have no idea where the inital.pak folder is either.
I'm so confused.
This is where you find more than one game has a file of this name...
Those are the normal Default locations:
Epic = C:\Program Files\Epic Games\SnowRunner\en_us\preload\paks\client
Steam = C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SnowRunner\preload\paks\client
Not everyone sets up their system the same way, so there is a possibility yours is installed somewhere else.
^^ Try This ^^
As Fizzymus suggested, do a search of your system and this will find it.
