NO H pattern gearbox?? REALLY??

What is going on??? I just bought this game was about to stream and it should be realistic.... Mudrunner has H-pattern gearbox but this doesnt?!?! WHY??? i wont play this at all this sucks so bad!!!

Unfortunately, there has been no support for H shifter in this game for years, and they don't even want to push themselves. It is incomprehensible why what was good in Mudrunner was left out of this one.

this isn't a racing simulator, there's no need for it. i see no point in playing this with steering wheel and shifter. controller is more than enough.

however if you want to customize shifting or other controls in way game doesn't allow, then you can use something like x360ce or autohotkey to remap controls to whatever you want. both are free tools.

The very least they could do for those of us with wheels and pedals (The game does support them and they are much more satisfying to use than a controller IMHO) is put in a setting to turn off that horrid arcade/console "brake to reverse" feature. That is a freaking nightmare anytime you are even slightly in trouble and want to use the brake to... you know... brake!!!

If you're in any gear other than auto, the brake is a brake. I know, doesn't help much, but you can control your speed on descents by using low gear + brake

I used this just the other day to solve a grip problem in quarry. I can change gears like 5 times as second, lo to hi to auto, back to lo etc. Blew the rocks right out from under the tyres. Hi gear throws truck forward (like 2nd gear start) then immediately into lo stops it rolling back or stalling. Works even better in mud bogs.

that does not bother me so much, but it is quite annoying when using keyboard + mouse and you try to use the default hold-ctrl+mouse to move the shifter and just does not work - have to grab controller to use hold-LB and RS to actually work

great idea, unfortunately a TKL user and will have to use random non-sensical keymaps

when my buddy had off road truck he used H pattern gearbox. I thought that games like these "SIMULATORS" would be close to realism and not made for xbox kids who like to use controller... do u use controller in real life.... NO

And it's not a SIMULATOR game either - not the same way that Flight Simulator is a simulator. It does not pretend to be an accurate simulation of driving a truck. The scenery is nicely done, It's about using trucks to move cargo over difficult terrain.

Nice, I do something similar but on the keypad of an MMO mouse - easy selection of gears.

What a dumb response. Just because some people think there's no need for full wheel support doesn't mean everyone does. ATS still has controller support even though it's designed for wheel. Because SCS realizes some people might not want to play on a wheel. Apparently Saber/Focus don't share that sentiment.
