If so, have you tried Verifying Integrity of Game Files?
Have you made any software or hardware changes?
Some Keyboards and/or Controllers will crash the game as well.
Try disconnecting any before starting the game.
If your system does not meet the Minimum Requirements for SnowRunner, then that is more than likely the problem. Just because other Games will run on less than minimal requirements, does not mean SnowRunner should or will.
I would venture to say that the Minimum Requirements are actually not good enough to run SnowRunner effectively.
Make sure to run:
DXWEBSETUP.exe (Direct X)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
VCRedistrib (Visual C)
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
dor.net (framework)?
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework
Then restart PC one last time to make sure everything is updated!
I reinstalled the current win10 (22H2) on Dec 12th, and it is running smoothly so far. as of today, the BIOS processed in 6.1 seconds.
Snowrunner runs smoothly without incident. The worst thing that happens is it hitches (or whatever it's called) once in a great while, for only a few seconds. and this is on my laptop (7745HX, 32GB RAM, with GTX 4070)
But I've given up on win11 once again. It seems to be perpetually in turmoil since its release. I want to use it, but it fights with me tooth and nail. It's a good thing I have two gaming rigs. I can switch back and forth at will. but I seem to be stuck on my laptop the most as it's the most stable (win10).
Good luck and have fun!
We can't help you if you don't post what you have tried. There are many suggestions above to try.
Reinstalling Windows is a last resort, and only done if you don't have anything important on your machine. Ask a lot of questions before even trying to reinstall windows.
Not sure why it isn't opening for you.
Thank you all for your input, I really appreciate it! I'm the only one that uses the computer, the specs on my laptop are superior to the "recommended system requirements" and I've already played the game for almost 1200 hours. So I don't understand why it won't open all of a sudden.
Mark Johnson, I ran the first link of these three that you posted and the third one looks simple enough. However, when I clicked on the second link you posted I don't see how or where to download anything. I'm not all that computer savvy so I'm probably looking right at it and not realizing it. How do I run the second link? Sorry for my technical illiteracy. LOL!
And again, thank you all for your input! I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!
After instaling this: DXWEBSETUP.exe (Direct X)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
The game launches again. I hope this does not give me any problem in games or programs I use for work.
Thanks a lot and happy holydays.
Yes, The Visual C++ has an odd layout.
but if you scroll down the oage a little, under:
"Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022"
There will be 3 links to download it. You want the x64 version:
https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
But this game usually only needs DirectX to be installed.
