Amur is kicking my butt!
I got the ZikZ 605R from Amur a few months ago and I am done with Wisconsin and Kola. Now I am back at Amur. I'm in Cosmodrome and all of my supporting trucks are stuck everywhere. Many are blocking major roads.

Is there a major truck must haves list for Amur? I have a dozen vehicles scattered all over, either stuck for flipped. I have deliveries abandoned everywhere.

Right now I am stick in a lake in a pit and can't get my Azov AE out of the ice. The ice is blocking me from getting out of the water and no more winch points to pull from.

I am near Meteo Point at the lake and can't get out to reach my mission.

Then either you or me do something wrong........;-)
Before getting the Zikz605R I did almost everything with those 2 Azov trucks.

personally i don't like these two Azov trucks - both a too low hanging fruit. Too easy to get stuck.
For the ice road parts of the map its probably easier to use chain-tired trucks as tow engines.
Apart from the Zikr for heavy mud/snow/ice I mainly used the Vorons and Taiga trucks
I think I have a good combo for the time being.

Azov 7 (Chained) and Zikz (Mud) towing each other. It is working pretty good. Now I just need to get to CHERNOKAMENSK to get the active suspension for the Azov 7 as it's suppose to raise it some.

I can now see the entrance Chernokamensk, but I have to leave for a job. Hopefully I can get the active suspension upgrade this evening.

I see you have it figured out, that's the key: Use 2 trucks; one with Chains and the other with Mud Tires. 😉

You have like 900 hours in the game, you should have learned to play by now.
Use Tatarin to explore the map and find the short cuts heavy trucks can pass by. Map is actuality not that hard once you learn it, although it is slow and fuel consuming due to snow thickness.
I used a Tatarin as a towing truck, and mostly both of the Zikzs as load carrying trucks.
I rationalised this by thinking that if this was real life then truckers working in such sparsely populated and harsh remote areas would never go out alone. There is someone in the towed truck - you just can see them!

I came and went to Amur a couple of times - skipped forward to the next map when I got tired of the grind in Amur. Came back and finished it eventually. I play in easy mode and never co-op.
Amur is an environment you don't want to use "roads" when they are obviously trapped. There are under water and under the mud/snow hidden roots hooking into trailers, snow sinkholes and routes that on purpose tilt you vehicle. If you discover such a route, do not travel by it again but find a way around. Off the road if need be.

Such maps have 1 rule : only use roads when they are NOT trapped. Use solid ( shiny dark blue ) ice as roads as much as possible. Look for solid ground or otherwise better driveable routes away from roads. In Amur and likewise maps it is better to go through a swamp then try to use the road through it.

Very large wheel vehicles have an advantage going over concrete panels that wreck smaller wheeled vehicle wheels as well. Still have to crawl over them. Also giving vehicles a lift upgrade makes sense when you have to pass the large boulders on shorelines to get to the ice. But using lift raises your center of gravity and they will roll more readily as a result. So don't use these on tilting roads.

Originally we did not have "OP" DLC trucks with very large 8x8 or even more wheels but now these are available, these maps become less extreme.
Amur was tiresome at start so I skipped it initially. With more experience gained in other maps I came back and actually had some fun. You really need to lear reading terrain to find the most suitable paths.

Amur is a bad design. It has nothing to do with difficulty. It only the most boring of all seasons. The only trucks usable there are once with huge mud tyres, which are available in later seasons. If you have next seasons, just skip Amur for now. Get more trucks with mud tyres, then you can go back.

Cat 745c from Alaska not mentioned, but its good for Amur.

I don't plan on buying any more seasons. As it is, my buddies talked me into buying Season 1 so we could play together, then they got bored with it after a month and moved on.

I always forget about that CAT. I know it's a good rescue vehicle and medium log hauler. But I use it so little that I forget about it, until after the fact. LOL

I use Kenworth 963, Cat 745, Burlak 6x6, Zikz 605 (from this map), International Paystar 5600TS, and DAN 96320. Most of them available in later seasons.
I'm not surprised, your buddies got bored ;-) It's a shame they made Season 4 so boring. I guess thay trying to make it "difficult" but the result was poor. It seams they learned a lesson from it, bacause seasons seasons 10 and 11 are really great.

Kenworth 963 is my workhorse in Chernokamensk and Cosmodrome.

I prefer not to use vehicles from later seasons

For some ice roads its sufficient to place a tow truck with chain tires
