not opening on mac crashes before game even loads

I am only guessing that as no Intel hardware is supported, then Apple users may have native M1 (and above) support from this game. You might not need to use Rosetta II.

The problem in the posted recommendations is that minimum doesnt say any processor type - one assumes that if its not an M1 then it must be for intel machines. I to had no start up on my imac with this game - Steam and the developer should have been more clear for players.

They are pretty specific in the Intel models that might be capable if not offering consistent standards required. Which sounds like might work, but may also have issues. They don't claim these Macs are supported though.
