You text that to your friend and from the main menu he goes to the coop menu. One of the options is "join session by code"
Select this option and type in the crossplay code and it should connect you.
If your friend doesn't have a computer to use steam voice chat, you should be able to download the PC version of the Xbox app and use Microsoft's party and voice chat.
Whenever I've ever had an issue with the code, it's always been something dumb like mistaking a 1 for a lowercase l or a 0 for an uppercase O
Then try swapping who's hosting. Snowrunner has always been a bit flakey and I've had issues where I couldn't connect to friends on the same platform, (PS4) and issues where I could only connect if I host, but not if a specific friend hosted.
You could also each try restarting your router. That one's kind of grasping at straws, but I've had it work when I was having conntection issues.
I send you a friend request. Accept it and we'll try and set it up using steam chat.
This has been as of May 31 at about 3:00 pm pst.
