The freezing may happen occasionally, I've seen it a few times but most of the time the game plays smoothly. It should go away for you too. But the input conflict has been in the game since day 1 (over a year for Epic users) and Saber won't or is unable to fix it. But there are people who insist they are highly capable developers, lol.

Well the input hints switching back and forth is a visual issue only. You can ignore it. It doesn't bother me. What's worse is when the mouse gets blocked because you used the wheel. That happens a lot to me when trying to select something with the mouse, for example a winch point. The workaround that works for me is to tap the throttle pedal, which strangely transfers control to the mouse and enables it. So at least there's that, but yeah, it's an amateur programming job they did.

Open your SETTINGS from the main menu or the pause menu, go to the HUD tab, set Force Wheel Input Prompts to ON.

And Unster, stop bashing Saber with untrue claims. It's extremely cringey.

I'm sorry but it's true. I don't know why you cling so hard to defending Saber at every turn. Have you invested in their stock? Do you work for them? I don't get it. You can still enjoy the game for what it is. Don't be so thin-skinned.

I'm a long-time gamer and game programmer myself. I've never seen issues like this in any other game. And yes, I'm a little bitter at Saber/Focus for getting banned from the forum just for speaking the truth. Having said that, I don't miss the forum at all. It's their attitude and incompetence that I dislike. The game is alright, but it could be so much better from a more competent studio.

"Saber won't or is unable to fix it." -- false, I just posted the fix to OP's issue

"mouse gets blocked because you used the wheel" -- the mouse is always available for the camera when you use the wheel

"amateur programming job " -- false, the Swarm engine delivers top notch graphics on 4 different platforms

Your falsehoods and stale grudges and haphazard insults are painful to read.

I was talking about the input conflict, not the input hints.

The Swarm engine was made for World War Z, probably a different team. I didn't say all of Saber was incompetent. But the team working on SR is.

Your constant defending / fanboy posts are cringy. I'm done here.

its not the prompts that is the issue, its the freezing when it swaps from keyboard to wheel and vise versa. i found a workaround. Thanks for the help.

No thanks for the arguments back and forth over trivial nonsense. I didn't ask how much you hate or love Saber.

What's the workaround you found for your freezing?

Sorry about the argument. I wish the guy would stop stalking me with his fanboy stuff.

Ah, I'm sorry. I've seen the switching, but it never actually froze for me when it did that.

It might get fixed now that it's on steam. I also own it on egs and everytime I buy an egs times exclusive I feel like a better tester because more often than not issues got unfixed and then the steam version comes along and stuff gets fixed fairly quickly if it's not already fixed at launch.

I try not to buy from epic unless it's an exclusive and I'm trying to support the devs. For example three fields entertainment, they are the team behind dangerous driving and also the former devs of burnout 1-3.

Well I have the Epic version which should be identical to the Steam version, and I verified last night at least with my setup, the wheel/mouse input conflict continues. I have the latest 13.1 version.

Same here. The occasional freezing I've seen didn't seem related to the input hint switching.

BTW, thanks for the tip about forcing the wheel inputs to on. It doesn't solve the input conflict, but at least it gets rid of the hint flickering, though I like I said, it didn't bother me too much.
