ALT+TAB freezing plus insanely long, glitchy startup

Anybody else having the game hang up for minutes at a time when alt+tabbing and starting up?

3060ti
Game on the OS SSD
32gb RAM
Ryzen 3600

Once the game is up and going, it's fine. But alt+tab out, and it hangs up again for two or three minutes. Startup takes about five minutes to get past a locked up black screen. Click anywhere and Windows will prompt to close the program (Not Responding)

having this issue and the ONLY way to fix it is restarting the computer, doing absolutely nothing else , then running the game. If you alt tab or quit out, you will not be able to play again until you restart. This is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AWFUL bug that needs to be addressed ASAP. Happens on all platforms.

Nah, the proposed fix from that thread didn't really do anything for me.

Gonna sound stupid for a second here but what keyboard do you have?

Hm, not the same problem I had then. Corsair keyboards do the same kind of thing. I would say try launching it without various usb devices to see if anything changes.

For me it was fixed by unplugging my O2+ODAC external soundcard.

i do have a DAC. lemme see if unplugging it helps.

confirmed - unplugging the DAC drastically improves focus loss + startup performance. plugging it back in causes the game to choke back up for about two minutes.

did some more fiddling - uninstalling the DAC drivers and reinstalling them does not fix it. either i play the game without my DAC (and therefore audio) or i eat a several minute freeze. this issue is *REALLY* frustrating.

I had the exact same issue with setup VoiceMeeter+Dac in game Teardown.
The dev fixed it in a game update. Combining that and the fact that reports of this issue did showup before on the internet and it's not fixed a year later I sadly don't think it will...

Same issue, it stopped when I unloaded Discord and then launched the game. Must be something in the Discord config, I'll play around with it. For now, not an issue because I don't know anyone with the game to play with.

Insanely long startup? Is it like a long black loading screen? If yes it sounds like a mod issue following the known issues thread from the official forum.

This was happening before I ever actually played the game. No mods. But exiting Discord fixed it for me. Can't speak for OP.
