Any way to edit or hack money amount?
So, a friend and I were playing coop and we are a bunch of hours in to a play through in vanilla with no mods. At one point, I, the host, lost a bunch of money, went from ~$4,000 to about $-6,000 (that's negative money). Was confused, so I restarted the game and the coop session, then I suddenly had nearly $5,000,000. We're playing on hard, so it kind of takes the challenge from the game. I can pretend I don't have the money or restart, but I really don't want to lose progress.

Does anyone know of a way to edit the amount of money? I want to decrease the money I have back to something reasonable to bring back the challenge of hard mode.

Thanks.

https://www.maprunner.info/resources/save-editor for an online editor

Warning, the maprunner site is filled with a massive amount of spoilers!

Open with notepad: C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ userdata \% YOUR_STEAM_ID% \ 1465360 \ remote \ CompleteSave.cfg

Make a backup of this file.

Find the word "money". Your balance will be separated by a colon and can be changed. Save the file.

Sweet, thank you. If anyone else finds this, search case sensitive for "money". Makes it easier to find.

@Mendel: The file location on that site isn't right for steam (maybe it's right for Epic?).

Yeah the save file is in the steam client directory of all places. Save if also in a basic txt file.

Same file, though.
Just use the path that Allozorro gave above.
If you hit a wrong key with the text editor, you can potentially make your save invalid.
