Yes, there are several ways.

(You cannot recover a trailer, so that is not an option to unload it.)

The functions menu (V) has an item that says "remove cargo". This deletes cargo that you click on; it's lost forever (if you need it for a mission, you might need to restart the mission).

You can "unpack" the cargo from functions menu and then use a crane (e.g. the "LC 3.2 Loading Crane") that you can install as a frame addon to move the cargo.

You can ram the trailer with your truck to tip it over, or winch to it and pull it over. Once the trailer is on its side, the cargo unpacks; pull the trailer away and upright and load it. (You can pick the cargo up later with a crane.)

You can sell the trailer at a trailer store and rebuy it if you are playing in normal mode. You will not lose money, as it costs the same amount that it sells for. If you unpack the cargo first, it will drop to the floor as you sell the trailer; if you do not, the cargo is removed.

Thanks a lot mate, that was helpful! Especially with the ramming. Now as you say it, another idea would be just to flip it over with the winch and empty it that way. But the "remove cargo" is really just what I was searching for, didnt realize I had to click.

Hmm, nice.

My method with the winch would have been to detach it first and then use the winch to flip it over. But obviously you can also winch it while it is still attached to the truck; you just need to be careful that you don't flip your truck over as well by accident.

Obviously that's only necessary if you intend to pick the cargo back up later.
