Always Daytime
Hi,
is there an option to have always daytime? I like to see where I'm driving. To jump ahead in time every night is going on my nerves.
Kind regards
Danii

Increase brightness/gamma, or skip the night.

This doesn't help anyone not in ng+.

You can start a new game and choose New game+ and change the settings for daytime and leave the rest as it is or choose to have a bit of fun:-D. You can still play as normal, if day settings is the only thing you want to change.

I play in new game+ and having fun, but still the hours running away, no matter if i play with trucks have all the upgrades, it still takes times to complete missions and i can still tip over. Those upgrade boxes do not make any sense for me.

Hopes my replay could help :-D

Hmmm I'm old and new to editing the SR save file. I found the timeSettingsDay and timeSettingsNight in the CompleteSave.cfg but no TIME_SETTINGS value. Am I in the wrong file?

What does help everyone regardless of the game mode, though, is to add lights to your vehicles.

The labeling of the lights as cosmetics is misleading because they are very much functional upgrades. More lights = greater light intensity AND range at night.

(And just to clear this up since I see lots of people who never switch their lights on and just skip night instead: you have to manually turn them on by pressing L. The default amount of light you get if you don't do this is negligible.)

Anyone in the future wondering this, there's a pass time button in the bottom right corner of the map. You can't use it in hardcore mode, though. If you are in hardcore mode, adding a few extra lights to a vehicle goes a long way in the dark.

I tried to find some info about Day Night cycle in Snowrunner. Now I don't care about Cycle itself, how to cheat it, change it, set it up or skip it
What I want to know is, if the Day cycle is Save based or somehow global, because I've seen one let's play where the player restarted PC because of an recording audio glich and when he got back to the game it was night instead of midday. (He was doing hard mode, so you can't skip time there) I can't find this info anywhere

i think night driving is all part of the fun in the game, plus the towns and bridges factories all look great at night

YES! There is! This took me forever to work out, but here it is.
Okay, find your save file, ctrl+f and look for "TIME_SETTINGS":X,"; X will be the setting from New Game Plus, 0 being default, 1 being no time skip, 2 being double daytime, 3 being double nighttime, and 4 being day only, at least from my testing I believe that is the case. I tested by making multiple save files with different time settings and comparing the difference.
The other major difference was the "timeSettingsDay" and "timeSettingsNight" settings. In default, Day and Night were both set to 1.0, while in Day only, Day was set to 0.0 and Night was set to -1.0.
So I changed the all 3 of those settings to get a save file where time does not pass, but I can still manual change the time from the map screen, which is arguably the best of both worlds.

So to recap; ("TIME_SETTINGS":1," is just default + no timeskip)
Default: "TIME_SETTINGS":0," "timeSettingsDay":1.0," "timeSettingsNight":1.0,"
Double Day: "TIME_SETTINGS":2," "timeSettingsDay":0.5," "timeSettingsNight":1.0,"
Double Night: "TIME_SETTINGS":3," "timeSettingsDay":1.0," "timeSettingsNight":0.5,"
Day Only: "TIME_SETTINGS":4," "timeSettingsDay":0.0," "timeSettingsNight":-1.0,"
I hope this can help you guys, also, it seems save files are in order, so if you're like me and your mainsave isn't in the first slot, then your save slots are just in order from 0 to 3, not 1 to 4.
Nice, my safe file isnt working anymore. I cant continue game and im Level 1 in the start screen :/

(Google Translate)

Hi, You can create a new custom game mode that stays up to date. If you don't want to do this, I recommend searching on Google, (SnowRunner Trainer) on the website (flingtrainner.com) where you only enable the function (freeze daytime), it is only available for computers. It was the easiest way I found.

Thanks a lot. Question: I run snow runner.app on a MacBook Air M2. I can not find a file named "TIME_SETTINGS". Do you know if I can change the time skip in snow runner for Mac?
