Wood Transport need to much grind.
its only me or transporting wood is a painful task and unfun.

In Michigan there are a quest where you need do a same route 9 times if you want to transport everything in normal way.
Game is perfect but this part of the game is a painful grind.

In my opinion full trailer should contain 3 wood cargos - not only one.
Of course you can just put 20 logs without packing them but i dont think that was developers intention.

I think about wood as kind of end game. I don't do wood until I have nothing to do anymore. It's grindy, yes. However, it's a game about driving, and those tasks need you to - wait for it - drive. You don't need to do those tasks. You can do those in one go. Or you can do one part, do something else, and if you feel like it, the rest of it. I think there's nothing wrong with it.

This is not true at all.

Timber for the Locals
  • Deliver to the Lumber Mill: Long Logs x3
  • Deliver to the Farm: Medium Logs x3
  • Deliver to the Town Storage: Medium Logs x3
For the farm, drive past the gas station.
For the Lumber mill, you can drive across the drilling site island.
For Town storage, you can drive across the river at the ford (this needs good tires).

If you drive only on the main roads, you can use two trailers for the medium logs: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2493535604

which logging camp in particular are you thinking of?
(also, it feels like this is also true in reality?)

i do logging only when i'm really bored, the problem i have with it is how unrewarding it is. with the other cargocalypse missions, you at least get to watch stuff happen.

also the log numbers mean ♥♥♥♥-all, at logging stations they're by-log, elsewhere (e.g. sawmill) they're by-load (one load is three logs). make that make sense.

the big cat can't have trailers. another aspect of logging that railroads the player into grinding.

Well... in the end i took 7x (21 logs) logs cargo at once, i just do not pack them and then i repack transport at destination and move to another with the rest of logs.

It's not just you. I hate mods, but even I downloaded a medium log bed mod for trucks, because there was no way I was doing all that with just trailers. And dragging trailers not only seems wrong, it also limits you a lot (unless, like Mendel says, you stick to main roads).

Yes, considering how wonderfully the networking code works and the problems people have trying to connect to each others' games.

I can understand that long logs take a truck addon + trailer, but for medium logs it feels like they made it intentionally grindy just to fck with us.
Why the hell can‘tthe cat 745 pull a trailer? This way it could transport 2 mediums at once. Similar situation with the 10 wheeler: It can have a longer flatbed (cause the vehicle is fcking long) to carry 3 items instead of one but not medium logs for some reason.
You can argue about the 10 wheeler that it might not be powerful enough, but no trailer for the 745 makes no sense to me whatsoever...

My guess is that the overhang of the logs at the back of the 745c is such that if you connected the medium log trailer to the frame, it would we so restricted that you couldn't go around a corner with it.

The back end of the 745c is already moving about quite a bit because of the central hinge, and if you had a trailer with a longer drawbar, I suspect it would tip more easily.

There are several mods that add a trailer hitch to the CAT745c. The screenshots accompanying https://snowrunner.mod.io/tip-medium-logs-for-cat-745c (which is not a mod, but rather a set of editing instructions) suggest that the medium logs are indeed too long to make this work with the existing trailer.

This is the way. Very easy to do...
