Starting Kola without mud tires is like walking into a RPG dungeon as LVL0. You'll want to have unlocked the Off Road tires or better yet mud tires before you tackle the snow covered reigions, period. You'll want to ditch the road tires on almost all your trucks asap.
Some of the DLC trucks have them pre-installed, but you can unlock them for whatever trucks you already have with enough EXP
Once you get Mud Tires for your scout or off road tires for your truck, you won't be afraid of anything.
I have almost no problems in Kola because i didn't head in until I had a decent fleet going for me. My biggest problem in Kola is tipping over on those slopes and sunken roads.
mandatory trailers designed specifically to be bottoming out every 3 feet, flying alien ice sheets bugged to hell, inexplicably indestructible trees, and no ability to put chains on majority of potentially useful vehicles.
then of course my absolute favourite, whole two inches depth of murdersnow(tm) that arbitrarily stop any 17-ton 8-wheel drive soviet diesel vengeance dead in its tracks no matter what. the same whole two inches of snow that irl i'd clear with a lowered 3-series beemer with negative camber on all wheels.
it's not a challenge, it's deliberately trollish ♥♥♥♥ design.
Agreed. I have to conclude that it was meant as a response to all the people that whined about the game being easy once they had a few Russian trucks.
I know exactly how you feel... Its really pretty, but its so annoying after so many times tipping/sink/crashing that I just want to rage...
Kola Penn. And Amur are both really hard.
Intro map to Amur, you can go out the side of the garage closest to the river instead. Less rage inducing to a degree...
But as far as kola Penn. goes, rescuing the F750 was the most annoying aspect of that map for me.... Took me days...
OMG yes! I'm a completionist and stubbornly just want to finish it, but it became so much "not fun" that I had to stop and take a break. I'm sure I'll be back, once the memories have blurred and the pain isn't so recent...
