There's also a Steam guide in the SnowRunner section on 'How to avoid crashes related to G-HUB'.
Hope this helps!
That fixed it. Thanks.
Sounds like a Logitechy sort of thing to happen anyway.
Then in task manager look for the LGHUB updater process, stop it.
Now you can play the game without problems and without the window appearing or closing the game on the home screen.
I used this bit of the guide to fix my game. See if this might work.
Do not click anything in crash reporter. Alt-tab into the game and in settings, and change Steering wheel type from "Logitech Legacy" to "Logitech TRUEFORCE" by clicking arrow once to the RIGHT.(if you click LEFT you would end up with "Direct Input" type and would need to follow second section of the guide)
How odd that software for a mouse and keyboard would do this , hope they fix it though as i cannot change the colour of my kb now.
First make a copy of your Game save data. To do this copy the following folder to a save place:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOURID\1465360\remote
YOURID is a long row of numbers wich stands for your Steam ID
1465360 is the Game ID for snowrunner.
You can also save the folder C:\Users\*YOURNAME*\Documents\My Games\SnowRunner\base\storage
Then you have to complete uninstall the game incl all the registry entries. To do this I used Revo uninstaller which is free to find in the internet.
Uninstall with REVO uninstaller - steam will open and ask for uninstall snowrunner. Click yes and after steam uninstalled the game itself you have to delete ALL the registry entries and leftover files and folders from snowrunner with REVO wich is still open after the uninstall. After that manually delete the folder 1465360 in the steam userdata folder and the snowrunner folder in the mygames folder.
then reboot your system to take the registry changes effect.
Now snowrunner is COMPLETELY deleted from your system.
Re-install Snowrunner and I hope the game will run again.
Then you can copy back your remote files in the remote folder and hope your save games work with the new installation. One of mine worked, an other not...
Good luck :)
And after that I installed an older version of G Hub, that work and unchecked the auto update option.
Then it worked on my computer...
Wait, yes it works now. I didn't know how to use Revo properly! Thanks!
I just uninstalled GHub with Revo and all entries in the registry (which Revo does for you if anyone else reading this doesn't know what Revo is).
Same issue! Just black and instant crash... NOOOO.
I disconnected a USB Hub, restarted the system and the game and it works.
Snowrunner in general has problems with some connected USB devices. Especially USB Hubs seem to make probems. It checks the USB connections while running and if something doesn't fit it will quit instantly.
Furthermore the wheel has to be connected on the same USB port every time I guess.
In general Snowrunner is very very sensitive in USB behavior. Probelms which can - and have to be solved from the developer!!
But I have a lot of other USB devices. Like a micro USB mic (elgato wave 3), a xbox controller dongle, a logitech webcam. (and also mouse and keyboard)
