Controller vibration?
Hi,
I thought it was my controller having a problem so I bought a new one (xbox 360 for Windows) but still no vibration, option is ON in the menu. Found some report of issue a year ago but it has not been fixed? What situation generates that controller feedback?

I also get no vibration regardless of using a DS4 or XBONE controller.

xbox elite controller here. Works fine on my end - so it's at least not a general issue. Vibrating only stops when the battery is about to get empty. Could it be an issue with a control scheme? Are you guys having wireless or wired? That's the only differences that I can think of which could possibly matter. What about the driver? Reinstalled?

Wired Xbox One controller. I got vibration.

Wired XBOne and DS4 Controller vibration works fine here. Starting the engine, changing gears, and bumps in the road set off the vibration.

In general and not related to snowrunner there used to be issues with wireless controller vibration, not sure if thats still a thing or not, and as elevenfourteen said if playing wireless and low on battery it wont vibrate. I would try disabling steam from taking over controllers as snowrunner has controller detection built in already. You can turn steam input off by rightclick>properties on snowrunner in your library and going to controller.

Interesting I have a wired XBONE and DS4 controller that both get nothing, may I ask if you just use the default steam controller profiles are do you have anything else going on?

I always connect hardwired with a USB cable.

I don't use steam controller profiles. I went into the main steam controller settings and unchecked support for all controller types. I also do not use bigscreen mode, as I think that has some overrides to take over controllers. I usually plug into usb 2.0 ports, but I don't remember any issues with usb 3 ports.

Maybe if you disabled rumble for the controller on a console, the controller remembers the settings even when used on pc, but the only controllers I know that might do that are some 3rd party and the xbox elite controller.

The only other issue I can think of right now that hasn't been said is maybe if there isn't enough power on the USB port to support the rumble, but I'm not even sure if thats a thing controllers look for and it would probably be a rare circumstance already.

Edit: I just noticed theres also an "enable rumble" setting for controllers in steam's controller settings. Make sure is isn't disabled if your controller isn't rumbling.

Xbox One controller wireless through BT.
I get weak vibration on auto gear shifts and I think when truck gets damage. Haven't noticed and other vibro feedback.

turn Vibration off, go back and then turn it back to on

It works fine for me, but it's utterly annoying so I turn it off. I'd rather not having the controller constantly shaking. Batteries last longer without it on as well.

Vibration on my Xbox One controller works fine (unfortunately). I turned it off. Every little move makes it vibrate, which eats the battery power. It makes sense that it should vibrate with every little thing, you're driving old trucks with powerful engines, so they got that "realistic feel" right.
