Extremely long startup time (5 minutes+)
Since installing Snowrunner the game takes 5 minutes minimum to start up. Task manager shows it as 'Not Responding' I've updated my GTX 2080 Super drivers to the latest available.

My hard drive is not fragmented. MudRunner practically starts straight away! As do all my other games. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

It's like the computer is hash checking every file as it loads. Just how SnowRunner used to be.

I have no such problems using an SSD, but if Snowrunner is installed close to the outer edge of your spinning disk, then the data is going to be slower to access.

Verify the integrity of the game files
Check for Windows software and driver updates
Check for network connectivity

Just on a sidenote here: That's not how it works, at all. If anything, then data is scattered all all over an HDD. If I follow your thoughts you also forgot, that the radius increases to the outside and there's more data stored, but as I said, it doesn't work like you think it does.

regardless more and more games are needing a SSD hard drive to minimize load times snowrunner is no exception. mine works fine on a SSD.

I appreciate all the replies, Thank you. I'll copy my game files to my SSD and see if that makes a difference. But this is the only game that takes literally 5 minutes to load in. Once I'm up and running I can enter another area through a tunnel etc and it loads straight away Lol

So I copied Snowrunner to my SSD and it still takes 2:40 to load to the start menu. Task manager still shows as not responding. I'm not sure what the game is trying to do.

I've made an exception in my firewall, and VPN (Surfshark) for Snowrunner and also disabled my VPN with the same results.

Once the game is running I can load between the zones within seconds and it plays perfectly. BUT... if I Alt & Tab to check a YouTube video etc and go back to the game it's not responding again for about 30-40 seconds and then it's playing fine again. I've verified my game files, checked for fragmentation and installed the latest nvidia drivers. Windows 10 is also fully updated.
I can't be the only one

I have been having the same issue for over a year. Load time approaching 5-10 minutes. I have always had my game installed on an nvme drive too.

My game gets to the main menu in 50 seconds and I don't even own an SSD. There must be something else going on.

I can report a similiar thing my hdd is 5400RPM but game still loads in about the same time as yours

The thing that takes longest for me are all the splashscreens at the start. I am sure it would load so much faster without those.

Check your USB-devices! I have this problem, but only if my Nuforce DAC is plugged into a USB-port.

Considering this thread is from over a year ago, I'm pretty sure they no longer care, and/or have figured it out by now.

You might want to check if your motherboard has a USB update as part of a new BIOS revision.

I had the same problem until I disabled all my mods. It loaded up lighting fast after that. Cut back on your mods and you'll see load time improve

Ah, yea if you're using mods that might do it. Haven't used any in SR but seen that issue on a lot of games.
