Geological Exploration mission: No info.
This quest gives no clues on where these locations are located, other than North, South, and West.

I though it was a distance thing, as the numbers change when I drive, but they weren't changing logically. Then when I climbed a hill, then I noticed it was elevation.

But there are hills all over the map. How are we suppose to determine a remotely close proximity.

OK, I went a little further as I was around 100m and when I got near, it was beeping at me. But I see nothing. I keep stopping and going trying to find ground zero. But I don't get any visual clues. Just a beacon thing I keep using, but nothing seems to happen.

To make things worse, the game keeps auto-hiding the UI and I lose my mission stats. Stupid updates. Now I can't remember where it was beeping or the numbers as it was hidden.

Do I need exactly 0.0m? I can't seem to find it. I get 30-50 feet and I get so turned around. I am so dizzy. lol

It's been over two-hours now. Grrr

I agree its very fiddly to get the exact place to stop, kinda have to get the beeping to turn into a full beep then just try and plant the tool. I managed it only after a minute or two. but i agree they coulda made it a little easier to see where your supposed go. maybe a few meters bigger area to plant the seizeometer thingy.

It's a distance thing, and it's possible to figure out. But it IS a huge pain in the ass, so if you get tired of it, just check maprunner for the locations.

Note you can turn the 'disappearing' UI off, just toggle 'Immersive Mode' off in the settings :)

Yes, I figured out it was a distance thing when going to the second one. Still trying to find it in the West. It seems a long, long ways off the road in a big forested area. I don't know if I need to circle around another road as there are two dead end roads in the area. It looks to be a big PITA.

I have a heavy duty truck, maybe I will need a smaller offroad truck. I have the Catipilar Offroad truck in the garage. It is small and fully outfitted, but I see an 8-weel drive Russian truck with full time all-wheel and diff. lock. It sounds slower, but might be better if I need to drive through that forest area.

Yeah, I went looking for it on my next session and finally found it.

Yeah, I finally figured it out. it seems 150m and it starts beeping, then when you get about 10m it changes tune and the distance number disappears. I was at 12.5 and still too far away, but a bump on the throttle put me in.

Now, I have to decide whether I should go around, plow through the forest, or get a new truck. Since it's a long drive for a new truck, maybe I will just do what I can with my current truck. The worst that can happen is I get stuck or run out of gas and need to recover, yet again. lol

OK, I finished it finally. I purchased the 8-wheeler Azov was nice and small and maneuverable.

Each point was easier and easier to find.

Now I can unlock the Quarry map with the next mission.
