Can't join coop game

me and my friend have both completed the start of the game and have a garage, the invite to game/join game buttons in steam friend list aren't doing anything, regardless of who is hosting and or if the game is private/public

The host should have an invite code. If he sents you that code, you can join him.

The join code can be found by the host:

press escape, go to 'manage party' - the code can be found top left. If it doesn't work, make sure all of you have crossplay enabled in your settings.

We had this problem, too.
In our case, a restart of the game and the MP-Session was helpful.
After that, you have to invite him via ESCAPE, Manage Party, Invite (you can click on the empty picture next to yours, then the Steam overlay will open and you can invite

Also curious, my buddy has the code but I don't see where I can type that in. "Join Coop Game" just puts me in some random person's server

Is either of you set to Invisible mode? I had an issue where my friend could not invite me while I was set to Invisible mode.

start coop game and then something about use invite code at the bottom

Tried to get trio together: the instant the third joins it kicks the other nonhost and they cant join back at all.

even with code its all of your isp and nat types fighting each other this game is a pain in rear to make coop work i even kill firewall run a forced open nat and it still will kick a 3rd out and my 2nd when the 3rd joins it kicked the 2nd when 3rd joins back and 2nd joins back it kicked 3rd out if they both hit join at same time it crashes my game lol its not u guys it is saber and there horrid mp coders i have 460+ plus games on steam snowcrapper is only one that does this hoorid peer to peer coding and thats all it is

and saber doesnt give two shats so also why i never even gave expecraption a chance heard its bad game but coop is same thing and the new roadcrap wont be any different cus saber just does bad coding n only wants to sell a game n dump sub par dlc on u and thats all ur ever gonna get

sad, yea thats why i try before i buy. this game is pretty fun solo, but gets old quick. coop is another way to keep enjoying the game. so when you cant even enjoy the game and have to wait weeks or months for a patch to fix it (if ever). i dont see why i can support that. big fail on their part
