Other times you need to look beyond what a clue is directly pointing to. one example is knowing 1 of 2 cells is definitely a mine/bomb, and they are both next to another cell with a 1 in it. You know that the other 4 cells surrounding the 1 are safe.
I have ended up guessing on occasion too, but it may not have been necessary.
Twice last night I almost posted screenshots of places where I thought it was just a guess. In both cases after I captured the screenshot and was writing out the descriptions the answers came to me. On one I was missing a very long straight line clue. I just lost it in the sea of hexes. On the second one I think I had to reverse my thinking and not find the hex I needed to mark (which I would have had to guess at) but one which was safe to normal click on.
Button to our discord can be found in hexceed's settings page.
Also, a big thing to look for when you start getting stuck is for any far-reaching hints. Many times, when I get stuck for a bit, it's because I'm missing something like a Line hint (the red arrow indicating "X mines along these column(s)") that's half way across the board. So it's important to go back occasionally and check the entire board for any of these long range hints to see if they have leftover spaces they cover that are now solvable.
I'd recommend adding a prompt when starting your game for the first time "All puzzles are solvable logically and do not need guessing. If you feel like you had to guess, we recommend redoing the puzzle and learn from it"
Mainly for the people who don't have much experience with the Mine sweeper style of puzzles or just the younger audience.
Also it would also help reassure more experienced players.
