Letter from the team: Thanks for your support!
Wow! Thanks everyone for playing our game and showing your support! We appreciate all the feedback we are receiving and we will definitely treasure it for the future!

Who are we?
We are a team of students from Breda University of Applied Sciences. As part of our university course, we have been tasked to create a game with a team of students selected by the teachers, coming from different courses: Design, Production, Programming and Art.

We are writing this message because the game is exploding beyond our expectations, bringing also the attention from media, content creators and players with AAA/AA/Large Indie Studio expectations.

We are very flattered of the attention, but please be aware that as a student project, it cannot really be compared to titles with budget, large teams and experience! Which is why we are giving the game away for free!
Some of us started as character artists, only to find themselves preferring environment. Others learned only during the development how the engine worked.
The game itself was our training. :)

The objective of the school is for each team member to practice their specific skill set, which could be tool programming, management or animations. For this reason the overall scope is very limited and designed about the existing resources and the learning experience of the students. Is only thanks to the players and the community's feedback that we managed to push it beyoned, adding more features, voice acting and 5 additional hours of gameplay.

Arid is only our first step into the game industry and our future careers, but could evolve in something more if there is interest for it.

Don't forget to show your support if you enjoy it and give us feedback for a future version of the game!

Join our Community!
We are open to chat about the development, our experience or what's next on our Official Discord. come meet us!

P.S. We also offer support if you encounter any issue.

Great game guys, thanks and congratulations because you did a big and great job. I think I didn't have any problems and I just finished the game. I love the music of the end.

Thanks to make better my f***** lockdown :)

Great game guys, are you working with other Universities, maybe share your code and have them change the game to different environments. Flora and Fauna, cold instead of heat, that sort of thing. Or just reach out to digital art departments of different Uni's and change things yourselves.

Just an Idea. Getting the kids to play it now.

Very good work !!!

And without big means ???

If someone gave you the money, you would make the best game in the world.
Especially when we see the crap that some big companies with big funds make us pay too much ...

Sorry my english is poor, I tried to make an understandable comment :)

Really enjoyed my time with this title. I hope you continue working on it. I certainly merits a commercial release

Game crashed after 5 minutes. But looks great. At least what I got to play of it. I don't blame you guys you are using the unreal engine which was created by the most ignorant of game developers Epic games, so it is to be expected at this point. Nobody should ever use Unreal engine in my opinion. Epic games are trash plain and simple. There have to be better gaming engines out there. But I like the concept of your game so far, just hope the unreal engine doesn't mess it up.

Amazing game. Cannot fathom why more owners don't have the story-based achievements. Just got the "family reunion" achievement and joined the other 2.4% of owners. Everyone else is really missing out on a great gaming experience.

This game crashes a lot.

Brilliant game. I really hope the students use this to grow as team-workers and confidence to get out there, something to be proud of. All the best for the future.

Honestly wouldn't mind if you made the price be one or two dollars, as it might help with university funds.

Um, the moment you do that, another school year has to debug and support and maintain the game. so sorry, that's not how things work. The idea of school projects, is that students benefit. i can see how this slides into a capitalist ethic the moment we dwell longer on it sorry.

Yes agree, would pay for this game, but it is a showcase for the students, and the college/uni. Good work.

Overwhelming interest!
By me and by a huge amount of other players as the magnitude of positive reviews shows.
So perhaps - one day - at least some of you might revert to this game and expand it?

I will always stay wondering what lies out in that desert over the bridge :)
Tried to glitch out of map just to get a glimpse of this empty desert space but your coding is too solid - I did not manage with your game as I often did with others ;)

I stumbled across this game and figured I'd try it out. I just wanted to say thank you very much for a wonderful game. Everyone who was a part of this game has a brilliant career ahead for them and wish everyone the best. Thank you again.

Thank you for the support and the good wishes! Good news is that most of us got a job in AAA/AA, while for Arid, I am personally still designing and planning for continuing this idea in the future, but currently I am keen into staying in AAA and learning as much as I can. :)

We got already a huge amount of learning, experience and awesome fans, that's payment enough!
Would be great to have funds for a proper "re imagining" but for that we'll have to find other ways.

Is the game ever going to be developed further? It has been years since any form of update.
