setting max fps - limit frame rate

my monitor runs with 100hz but i dont need to have 100 fps (vsync), i would like to cap it to 50 or 70
is there currently the option to set a steam startup paramter doing this?
i play this game currently with windows and linux

No there is currently no way to do this. It is something others have mentioned before. It is on our list, but not high up, since there are more pressing things to do first.

I really second this, as with my Nvidia I can end up able to cook eggs on the back of my pc for no reason other than games deciding to run at 400+fps.

I'd really appreciate a frame limiter in the game as otherwise I have to use an over-ride to do it somewhat jankily.

Just adjust it in the graphic driver app before you load up the game…

that's a good tip. Still seems like something we should support. Probably not hard to do. I think we even have some kind of frame setting in our debug tools, which we used to check certain bugs that only occured under really bad frame rates. So it should mostly be an options UI thing (if i am right).
