The melee behavior is actually something we are working on right now, since it also affects our new specialist.
Difficulty ramps up with the ascensions. Every time you beat a run, you unlock the next ascension with a new boss. (we need to make that more clear) My sweet spot is around Ascenion 7 or 8 probably. 10 is currently the highest.
Most of the QoL things you mentioned are already on our radar and we hope to get through all those before our 1.0 release.
We are actually currently working on a way to make our plans / roadmap / some kind of FAQ thing more accessible. Currently it is mostly all spread over different threads here and in our discord.
Glad you are enjoying the game overall.
A couple more notes:
- Deployed blockade tanks aren't selected as units (drag select, F2) and aren't affected by the support tank ability. Not sure if intended, had to undeploy to throw a heal on them and deploy again. I had the problem where I would accidentally deploy all of my tanks as they were marching across the map and then had to manually go find them. (I need to stop using F2 so much.) I love siege tanks though, so this is a new favorite unit.
- Are drops one-time use? I seem to lose them sometimes but not others.
- Hotkeys aren't rebindable, hope that's coming soon, I use a half-keyboard for gaming so some of the defaults aren't available to me
Keep up the good work
I've noticed this too and forgot to mention it. My assumption is that they become structures when deployed.
Most are reuseable, but the ones deemed most powerful are one time use. If you mouse over the drop and read the info, it'll tell you.
Main Menu > Options > Controls
Am I crazy or are the hotkeys not rebindable? I click on them and nothing happens
EDIT: OKAY yeah I'm blind and missed the dropdown to enable customizing them, lol
