Parasaurs are very easy to land eye crits on due to their heads being small enough that most shots will hit it's eye.
Open mouth shots are also a critical zone for carnivores, not sure if this applies to hebivores too though.
When it comes to landing critical heart shots though the usual issue I have is taking my shots from a bad angle so the distance from the dinos skin to it's heart is too great and the bullets damage is reduced enough that it doesn't land a crit.
So mind the distance your bullets have to penetrate, and try not to shoot through foliage since this reduces the speed and damage of your bullets.
I remember reading somewhere on this forum that bullets lose all speed and damage after going through 7 leaves/plants so always go for a clear shot.
You learn the best angles after a while though, just have to keep trying different approaches.
Like how you don't take a shot at an anky from above, you want to be at ground level or take your shot from below them for the best result.
For Ceratosaurus I have better results taking shots when the dino is facing me, shooting it in the side seems to not deal as much damage.
Keep trying and you will figure it out.
Best of luck and happy hunting :)
Nope, their critical zones are on head, but instead of eyes
Well that explains it, I stand corrected :)
I'm still having trouble with the Carnotaurus. I can't seem to find any "sweet spot" on its head as most bullets just seem to pass through the head. Neck shots don't work, nor do shots to the heart. I've only been able to take one down as it was charging at me and I think it was simply because I hit it enough times.
