Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunt

Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunt

This topic has been pinned, so it's probably important
List of bugs and issues
1. Dissapearing ammo display, when zooming/reloading.
2. Breath sound effect spam, when pressing SHIFT multiple times.
3. Weapon animation bounces after shot.
4. Detached sound effects from dinos. #FIXED
5. Mouse is way too fast on lowest setting.
6. Graphic options is missing, there should be FOV and Brightness at least.
7. Mist animation is resetting when you press RMB triple times
8. Camera bobbing is resetting when you move and stop.
9. Killed dino is sleeping. Depends on game mode
10. MIST icons quality is bad, and there is some transparenting lines.
11. There is no water jump sound effect. Or its not played.
12. Reloading is LOUDER than a shot. Reloading volume is unbalanced. In general volume balance of different sound is not good.

{VIDEO for 1-12}
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqoWbHuUXSQ

13. Sound effect of dino running on grass sounds more like a small chicken, you could mix it with regular foot stomp sound effect.
14. Not a bug, but exaggeration, character on some terrain slips too much while moving if is holding light eqiupment - like magnum or MIST. But my heavy sniper is still on my back, and if i switch to sniper it doesn't slip that much. You could slightly reduce the intensity of those slips. Its pain for keyboard users.

Second Video with bugs and issues
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
1a. Up/Down arrow in trophy room act as double press.
2a. Unkylosaurus never attack and never defend himself (always run away)
3a. Interrupted sleeping dino wakes up instantly without any animation.
4a. In observer mode you will be teleported when you move too close to dino, but the thing is, its happen only once, after that you can move as close you want, even inside them.
5a. Missing sound effect in player death cutscene for ankylosaur.
6a. Game is not informing player in any way that stamina is fully recharged.
7a. Running triceratops has bugged, looped sound effect.
8a. MIST display dead body information in incorect places.
9a. Arrows on MIST gadget always shows that you can switch to the left or right, no matter what (even with single license).
10a. Ankylosaurus has glitched front right leg when he is sleeps sometimes.
11a. Dying stego and anky doesn't make any scream sound when dies.
12a. Dinos doesn't scream when you hit them.
13a. Missing mating call sounds. (they are reply only to decoy)
Some tip says: "Use Decoy to locate dinosaurs by the sounds they make." -but they don't make any sounds

{VIDEO for 1a-13a}
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Rx2iExXeTI

14a. Cera dinos not spawning on beggining maps, to attack player. (threat level: none?)
-they should be spawned all the time, even if not selected to hunt, to mess up the player's plans
15a. Bleeding dino can die in the water, where player cannot go. So you can't claim trophy.
16a. Tutorial TIP says: "All collected trophies await you in the Trophy Gallery."
But if you evacuate trophy and die, you won't get it in trophy room. Its a bug?
17a. Crossbow is desynchronized with reload sound effect.
18a. Pressing (crouch) CTRL button while sprinting stops the sprint only, we won't crouch at all.
19a. If we are crouching and moving foward:
a) single SHIFT press won't start sprint (its work sometimes) b) holding SHIFT causes some ground shaking, but not starting sprint c) pressing SHIFT multiple times causes squats or intermittent standing up ~SHIFT is actually acting like sprint and crounch button together
20a. On first hunt launch (on tutorial) TAB button is locked, so if you press '1' button to switch on weapon, you can't press TAB to equip MIST again. So you won't be able to complete tutorial.
21a. Binoculars rangefinder has low resolution/bad quality black outlines.

Also:

15. Custom keybindings do not save upon exiting the game. FIXED

16. The Decoy cooldown timer doesn't reset if you get killed before it goes to zero and select "Restart".

17. Dinosaur kill animations sometimes don't play. I got killed by a Stegosaurus and an Ankylosaurus today on purpose to test it and neither animation played. Then I got killed by a Ceratosaurus twice. One time the animation played, the other time it did not. Same with getting frequently killed by the T-Rex. Sometimes the animation plays, sometimes it doesn't.

18. Not a serious issue, but dead T-Rexes are hard to confirm, especially if you get close. It's generally easier to confirm when holding up the MIST from a slight distance, but still feels problematic. This behavior was present in the Playtest as well.

19. Not actually a bug, but when using non-lethal ammunition, the DLC dinosaurs keep their eyes open even though they're supposed to be tranquilized & sleeping. It's not gamebreaking or anything, it's just weird.

Bugs already acknowledged by the developers:

20. The "Slayer" and "Traveler" achievements do not work properly.

21. Both DLC carnivores most of the time spawn with their default values, at 6.50m/3.50t for the Giganotosaurus and 5,50m/3,50t for the Carnotaurus.

22. Dinosaurs sometimes escape to the ocean, making it impossible to follow them.

-----------

23. And lastly, the hitboxes in the Shooting Range are misaligned, but who cares about that.

This counted as a miss.

I agree with them, but about tranquilizer, you can change it clicking on the top left text, in the hunt menu. (It's hard to see, but it switches between lethal, non lethal, and observer). It doesn't make a lot of difference, except for the kill animation. Some say carnivores are attracted to dead dinos, but not sleeping.

:thesurgewarning:Althrough, this is not bug if your game mode was set to NON-LETHAL (check on top of the Hunt Preparation screen):thesurgewarning:

Well, let's see. First of all, the custom keybindings do save now. That's a good fix.

Next, I can confirm that "Traveler" now unlocks, but "Slayer" still seems to be bugged. After downloading the patch I went into each island in succession, killed and retrieved a single Ceratosaurus in each of them before successfully evacuating, same thing I did last time. The "Slayer" achievement still did not unlock.

As for the sizes of the DLC Dinosaurs, those still don't entirely work. I killed two Giganotosauruses and 1 Carnotaurus in Delphaeus Hills, all three had varied sizes. Good. Then I went to Basmachee Rocks and killed 3 and 1 respectively, in the same hunting session. All three had the default values again, all 3 Giganotosauruses were 6.50m/3.50t and the Carnotaurus was 5.50m/3.50t. So maybe it's Basmachee Rocks that's causing them to glitch like that? I did not try the Great Forest, got no time for more tonight.

We tried to hunt on Basmachee Rocks and both Giganotosauruses and Carnotaurus have different height and weight, on M.I.S.T., on gamescore screen, in Trophy Gallery:wogball:

Can you please share more details? Maybe we're doing something different on our side:2019smile::ranald:

Okay, I just tried it again and it's the same. Here's all the information I can give you:

I'm using lethal ammunition and all upgrades except for "Pathfinder" and "Beeper". And with the Pro License I set it up to hunt the following species on Basmachee Rocks:

Stegosaurus: ★★ (Rare)
Ankylosaurus: ★ (Scarce)
Giganotosaurus: ★★★ (Natural)
Parasaurolophus: ★★★ (Natural)
Triceratops: ★★★ (Natural)
Carnotaurus: ★★★ (Natural)

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2863652241
I hunted, killed and retrieved 3 Giganotosauruses and 1 Carnotaurus. All three Giganotosauruses were 6.50m/3.50t in both the MIST and the post-game screen and the Carnotaurus was 5.50m/3.50t. Near the end I spotted one more Carnotaurus but I had run out of Sniper bullets so I couldn't hunt it. Still, it also showed as 3.50t in the MIST.

First Giganotosaurus:

(Apparently there's a limit of 10 screenshot previews per post)

I wonder if you can replicate this exact hunt with the same upgrades/species. And I think more players should report and offer feedback on this, I feel like I'm the only one who's noticing and it would be extremely weird if my game were the only one bugging out like this.

Hey Sleepy,

:dialogbubble:Thank you very much:MHRISE_happy: for all the details and screenshots:MHRISE_Felyne:, your help is greatly appreciated:praisesun::MHRISE_OK:

:thesurgewarning:One last thing to make sure that we're on same page, please check what's your current buid id, it suposed to be (Library→Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunt→Properties...→Updates): 9520956

I know it's probably:ranald: same as above, but just to make sure, please check it:lunar2020halodragon::isitcoffee:

Great:MHRISE_OK:

:dialogbubble:Also, based on details from your feedback it looks like our :bandit:QA:cursedskull: found some what reasonable explanation on what's going on:boat_anchor:
It seems that system takes in count what dinosaurs:lunar2020halodragon: are set for hunting incorrectly and as a byproduct it affects height & weight of the DLC dinosaurs:lunar2020halodragon:, e.g. if Parasaurolophus is set for hunting, it's affecting Giganotosaurus and if Ankylosaurus is set, it'll affect Carnotaurus:steamfacepalm:

Anyway, our engineer:EG2worker: is looking into why it's working like that and hopefully:ranald: next week we'll have final :47_thumb_up:fix:thesurgewarning:

Why Are All DLC Dinosaurs the Same Size?
Has anyone else noticed that all DLC Dinosaurs (Gigantosaurus and Carnotaurus) are the same size, 3.5 tons?
