- Weapons need to be reloaded and have varying recoil depending on type/impact, which takes some getting used to.
- Odd level shaping (a rectangular arena?) and limited movement space. More getting used to.
- Some enemies (like the standard zombies) can quite literally spawn ten feet behind you and wreck your run before you can react. Possibly a bug, but the developer is active.
- Not playing induces withdrawal from losing the high of pinwheeling through bullet hell.

It's a solid title, and cheaper than most cups of coffee. Buy it and use it to warm up for your favorite twitchy shooter or to hone your reflexes. You won't be disappointed.

I don't usually review games seriously, but this game deserves it.

Do you like arena-like shooters?
Do you like waifus?
Do you HATE geometry?
Do you like good soundtracks?
Do you like bright colors?

If the answer to any of these is YES!, then this is the game for you.
The game is pretty simple: you get in the arena, you shoot stuff, you avoid stuff.
Pretty straight forward right?
This game will engrave in your mind by force something called situational awareness.
You will drop like a fly in the beginning. You'll learn to always be aware of what's behind you, and by your sides.

Pros:

+ Responsive controls
+ Cheaper than a bus ticket
+ AWESOME SOUNDTRACK, ABSOLUTE BANGERS IN THERE
+ Different game modes to hone your reflexes
+ GREAT VA for the waifu

Cons:

- Zombies spawn way too close sometimes
- Oddly shaped arena
- Some enemies could do with some audio cues
- Could do with a cheat mode for pure practice
- I want to be beaten and then cuddled by the waifu now


Now in a particular note, I'm really captivated by this waifu, and the soundtrack. I would really love if a "doom-like" with this waifu, fun to use guns and awesome soundtrack ever came out.

Do I recommend this game?

Y E S !

I would have recommended the game a couple months back. Everything was nice. Very good gameplay, satisfying gunplay and good, semi-tactical positioning was incentivized to compete with the enemies and climb the levels.

BUT:

In the last update the choice of which gun you can use was taken away and now guns switch out every couple of shots and cycle on their own, can't reload and can't choose. Fine. Everyone was using Deagle, so coulda just nerfed that. But anyways. Then I see new weapon. The glorious AK47 finally made it's way into the game. I wait 10 years until the AK finally pops up from the GIANT pool of randomly cycling weapons (a plethora of guns is generally a good thing but in this case I would rather just have one gun for the entire run...), just to have about 1 mag of sweet sweet AK47 satisfaction, all good and well. Functions just as nice as expected, full auto, satisfying sound and damage output.

Next time the AK47 randomly popped up I was full of joy, until I tried to shoot it and only one shot was fired. Weird... I could have sworn the AK was full auto before...

Apparently there is a bug with some weapons being stuck in low fun semi auto mode, for me this is happening mostly to the magnificent AK47 and M60 machine gun, which is hurting my heart every time it happens (my condolences to Mikhail Kalashnikov, he would not approve of semi only AKs, I'm certain) but this has been added to the bug list and I hope this will be rectified soon.

The game was so good before, the weapons were well made and well implemented. Yeah, the Deagle was sharply stronger than any other gun, and the dual Deagles were even more so. But in which game wasn't the Deagle nerfed? Every game in existence has nerfed it's Deagle, so why did everything else have to suffer because of it?

I can't choose which gun I wanna use, my AK47 is stuck on semi auto and I can't even plan my movement ahead and position myself well, because I'll never know if I will get a semi auto double barrel shotgun that shoots 12 times without reloading (it used to reload after 2 shots before, not anymore after update) or a grenade launcher or a stupid semi auto AK47 or semi auto M60 or a bolt action sniper rifle.

I seriously can't recommend this game anymore, and my love and appreciation for this game BEFORE THE MOST RECENT UPDATE was enormous. It was, as advertised, a great gap filler game when waiting for other games to update or download, but now the fun is mostly gone for me personally. It's just sad.

I will be waiting until Rule No. 2 will come out and hope for the best, hope that the team behind this once very enjoyable gem of a game will have come up with some better ideas to balance the game and keep the variety of gun choices flowing.

Just a couple thoughts and inspirations on how to do that:

-Ammo management system with specific ammo pickups and ammo counts for each and every gun (limits the Deagles ammo and use time for example)

-Just remove the Deagle entirely. If that's the price I have to pay to be able to choose which weapon to use freely instead of auto cycling, then so be it (AK47 for life!)

-give each weapon some sort of passive ability to diversify gameplay and give the player the means of adapting a specific strategy or playstyle of their choice (think movement speed buff for pistols for example, or movement speed debuff for heavier weapons. Maybe an extra dash for certain weapons, or an additional jump. Increasing reload speeds for more powerful weapons have worked for other games. Maybe bring back the old recoil system with harsher recoil for the OP guns. Generally speaking, make every gun feel more unique and make them more specific, more niche, more situational, so that there will always be a situation in which a certain type of weapon will be preferable to another; this way the Deagle should never be the ultimate choice for every type of enemy and situation)

-have weaker weapons give a higher points multiplier, so that competitive leaderboard players are incentivized to use "weaker" / non-meta weapons

-just make an AK47 only mode (just for me)

There is a good game in here crying to get out. There is background music, footsteps, gun sounds and one liners, but there is no enemy audio besides death and hit sounds. All the shapes bounce around with no sounds, enemies spawn behind you with no sound. This game desperately needs someone to figure out its audio.

The lack of audio also makes you feel detached from the combat and the sense of unfairness it creates will probably be what kills its replayability. It never feels like you got killed because you deserved it, it feels like you got unlucky because something soundlessly spawned behind you.

There also isn't a FOV slider.

I've been set straight. Enemies don't spawn behind you, the spawn at the edge of the map at the portals.

This game needs some item for the point shop

for 2.99 this game is really a gem the movement feels nice its great for taking out anger and training your aim the only thing i hate is those damn alien things that swipe at me

If you asked me how I'd classify this game, I'd say this: it is a fun little game with lots of potential.

I'm positive that the developers are actively working on this, so I am as well confident that it will not be a "forever in early access" game. In fact, comparing the game from my first playthrough on March 23 to now, so much regarding the game's movement has seemingly been improved, and another gamemode was added.

The following is subject to change, depending on how the developers progress.

- Pros
simple concept, easy to get the hang of

weapons feel nice and responsive

movement feels improved from when I last played. for comparison, it initially felt like I was controlling Leon/Claire from the RE2 remake(if you're not familiar with what I'm referring to, the movement in RE2 is rather sluggish/weighted to fit the horror setting). However, this game is clearly not survival horror, so an apparent speed/jump boost was much needed; and it seems the devs delivered. The current movement seems fast enough to evade enemies, but not too fast.

the art is absolutely phenomenal- both the CGs and the in-game sprites.

the music is great, and from my perspective as a music producer, it is well-produced as well. No major issues to speak of.

- Cons
as great as the music is, the selection is slim; I would recommend perhaps another two songs for each station.

the pistol's ammo capacity seems rather slim for dealing with the geometric enemies; I would recommend upping the cap to around 12-15 rounds.

the game could benefit from a larger arena, with structures as cover. that's not necessary of course, but would certainly provide more variety to gameplay. Maybe it could be procedurally generated each round/specific number of rounds?

- other notes
there's lewd art. I have absolutely no problem with that, if anything it's more of a pro on my part. Some other reviewers seem to think it's out of place, which is fair; but the lewd art gives the game a unique personality, and I appreciate that. There's explicit nudity contained within, but you have to go looking for it; so, really, it's not much of a problem if nudity's not your thing.

(once again, me personally, as someone that does occasionally make and enjoy NSFW art? I love that.)

These two lines alone are enough to make me love this game forever!
