but yeah half of the time it's so minor you won't noticed it
Easily ignored: these ones have effects to minor you may not notice them at all. One I had was when the wheel was turned right, the headlights got brighter. I never noticed this one. Had to hint my way through it.
Minor annoyances: these will be easily noticed, but won't do anything to harm your car's performance. I had one where if the wheel was sharply turned left, the radio would toggle on and off. Another one was if the windshield wipers were on, the fuel indicator would start "wiping" back and forth with them. Again, nothing that will hurt you, but may annoy you.
Major problems: these can and will cause major issues if left unchecked, and if you're out on a run, you'll probably want to get back and fix these asap. The two examples I have are: "when the shifter is in park, the trunk opens" and "when the car hits anything, a random door opens." These not only remove your in-car protections (if your settings are on "when the doors are shut") but also increase the damage these doors take, and risk even falling off the car entirely.
Turns out most of those Quarks really didn't do anything and SOME might have actually been helpful. Like "steering wheel > turns left > headlights > Brighten" or "When Battery is Full > heads up display starts up faster". WHY IS THAT LAST ONE EVEN A QUARK?!
This. I have 4 or 5 quirks at the moment and only know what one of them is (open the hood and the right front door opens). They don’t seem to affect my typical gameplay so I’m ignoring them.
It's really annoying when that happens, so I've gotten into the habit of solving them as soon as they come up, no matter how small, benign, or even beneficial they might be.
They seem to “respawn” as quick as I solve them. I could solve them all and easily come back with 2 new ones, possibly worse ones.
It’s also worth noting that quirks can and seem to eventually fall off and go away on their own. I had one where putting the car in park opened the front passenger door. I left it since half the time I was parking was to go get an anchor and so I needed that door open anyway. It eventually cured itself and one day I realized it wasn’t happening anymore.
Yeah, but see, the point I'm making is that simply identifying quirks and not resolving them does not remove the affected components from being identified as "quirky" on the diagnostic screen. So, when there's a new quirk that happens to be affecting the same or connected components in a different, more undesirable way, it gets trickier to suss them out from the ones you already identified.
