Paint system should be redone
Using paint in this game is incredibly annoying due to 2 factors: limited amounts of it, and the unavoidable debuff all parts get after a certain amount of time, forcing them to be dismantled.

My favourite paint is the golden one, yet I've gotten only 1 can of it in over 50 hours of play, and it went away really fast after painting fresh parts because of the BS weary debuff.

Here's my suggestion: make paint use the same system as the detailing station. Once you get a paint or a decal, you dump it into the painting station, from which you can withdraw unlimited amounts of it, yet deconstructing it will give no resources.
Alternatively, remove the weary-like debuffs, since they add literally nothing to the game but pointless busy-work due to the need of crafting new parts.

I understand why they made it like this but my main annoyance is how much paint I have, I had to make on of the unlimited containers to store it all, and now I have quite a few of even the rare ones like gold and the retro stripe decal.

I'd make it so we get 3 types of "paint" pickups, that we can load on a mixer, and then each paint color is just a blueprint that we can fabricate by using up the three basic colors. My shelf (and the storage next to it) is absolutely full of paint, and yet I have found a single can of yellow during the game. Hell, I got my first can of orange today, after over 30 hours of play. But black, paint stripper and red? Man I could repaint the entire garage several times over, then strip all of it, then paint it over again.

I honestly don't think the problem is replacing parts, because I sure do have a T O N of paint and decals, but the problem is that I'm not going to use any of those cans unless I run out of the paint I like.

Why would they do it like this? So there's an extra source of chemicals?
You can put the extra ones into the matter deconstructor. Alas, I too made an unlimited container for them. Painting station seems completely useless gameplay-wise.

Get an infinite storage. Those chonkers can hold pretty much anything in them, in unlimited amounts.
Your system is interesting, but still feels like a little bit too much hassle for something that has no effect on gameplay.

I wouldn't mind a "Paint All" option being added, either just something you can toggle or maybe another blueprint you can buy from the fabrication station.

My thinking is so that some paints are rare while others are quite common as you stated, for example I've played 60 hours and only have three of the retro stripes and three of the flowers while having dozens and maybe even hundreds of the stripes, same with gold and blue respectively.

there is a mod that makes paints and decals have infinite durability on nexus.
