Agreed!
I feel like there should be more forewarning and a chance to react to these dangers, not so much because don't notice it (I've made a point to keep constantly glancing at my status monitor while in mires) but because it's not a fun system to interact with. Abductors for example will fly ahead of you and give you enough warning to pop a pulse, but with the mobs this warning would really matter and there isn't. It's even worse if it happens while you're busy driving and getting out of somewhere.
...Or at least, ynow, make seat storages that can't be stolen off, or theft-proof racks or something. Having a resource radar stolen is annoying, but a full roof rack is criminal.
A note on this, they will sound the siren after they have stolen from you, and moved away from you a bit. Sometimes they will fly ahead and stop with their siren (that's how I was able to recover my roof rack) but sometimes they'll come at an angle and by the time you realize they're halfway through an anomaly field with your headlight in tow.
I'd much prefer a forewarning that lets you react than an after the fact chance to recover it. An RWR-like system that warns you of what's around you, what's gunning for you and how close it is, for example, could have been very fun, tense and satisfying mechanic.
