I mean the cracked window thing is easy, because the game explicitly tells you that when you scan the part. The other stuff was what I was wondering about.
So the part get more susceptible for certain types of damage?
They do get more susceptible with use and also lose health faster I believe.
But this doesn't seem to fit.
If I build a lead-plated door, the status protection is being shown as +20%
The supposed "weaknesses" are also being shown as +20%, not -20% resistance.
I mean it makes sense for the parts to get weaker, but the UI is very confusing in that regard.
It's really strange that they don't add up as well if they're the same type.
the game shows the same modifiert twice like +10% +10 % instead of showing 20% once. At least sometimes.
There's a section in the inventory that defines all the icons if you're unsure about one
https://pacificdrive.wiki/view/Main_Page
Icons under a specific part are either going to be a "Status", which is the result of "damage/effects over time", or a property granted by the type of part you have attached (or an adjacent part)
This wiki also explains adjacency for parts
I see this too. What modifier is this please? Its not on the game logbook that I can see.
You have to open up the mileage. If the part has over 50.000 miles or something similar, you should swap the part. They apparently develope permanent malfunction if they are above 60.000 miles.
They will perform worse. For example body parts will take more dmg etc.
Tyres are important because most will eventually explode (not the puncture proof kind). If you want to bring them into the journey, make sure you bring one or two spares.
Im not sure about engines, but they may consume more fuel / electricity.
Up to you. I've not changed body parts for a while. And I only replace tyres when they blow during a journey.
Some other parts you definitely want to get new ones as soon as they develop the fragile quirk. Storage boxes for example.
As for the symbols there's an entire section in the logbook that describe all icons, and in case they can be fixed, what to use to remove them.
