Why is this game called "PenDriverPro" in task manager?
At first I thought something had gone wrong in the installation process but the .exe is literally called PenDriverPro. I was really confused at first as I thought it was in fact a pen driver for my drawing tablet.

That's my best guess, they had a project name based on their initial conceptions and they never changed the root to match the name they ended up shipping the game with.

Best guess: Holdover from early game production.

That is also my own assumption. I saw the same dichotomy in the name of the process, from Task Manager, and figured it was either the original name of the project, within Ironwood, or an early working title.

I'm literally on a Flow X16 and thought it was some sort of pen driver for my tablet as well, lmao

Name changes can be extremely destructive and are entirely incompatible with the usual multi-environment systems devs use. Would require time to first unify, then change the name

Bro with the kissing anime girls profile pic calling something cringe is wild.
Recently played through Outer Worlds SCE, and that exe is called something like indianagame iirc.
It's quite common.

steamapps/common/Pacific Drive/PenDriverPro
steamapps/common/Pacific Drive/PenDriverPro.exe

At least it's not a default Unreal Engine.EXE game icon and name I've seen my share of indie games that didn't even get around to changing their executable.
