Well you're better off recycling damaged car parts up to steel and making new panels and doors. You pretty much get a 99% return on a steel door/panel to replace the damaged panel/door.
It's a bit wonky to say the least. Also repair putty is hella expensive because of the rarity of chemicals and even then the blowtorch is so late game and requires so much it seems a bit... poorly balanced. I'd be game for them fixing this exploit while lowering chemical requirements of putty to 1x instead of 2x.
- Thing is, repair putty is expensive *on purpose*, because there are cheaper and better means to do repairs down the line. Some that are literally free except for time.
- Also if you don't have any putty at all, Friendly Dumpster gives you some.
- Also you can just turn on an option when you return from warping that insta-repairs your car.
So, yeah, okay, this is a little broken and it's a clever discovery, but if you use that, you may as well just turn on the free repairs and save yourself the clicking.Yeah you just have to go do a farming run when getting low on things, I did it once for chems and once for plasma. Everything else I've grabbed on the way to missions.
On the route planner look for high building population and then look for the plasma symbol on the planner too, you don't even need to go far to farm for those two items. Happy hunting.
I know, I try to make sure to hit those when I see them.. they're generic like everything else, they could easily be "under the kitchen sink" chemicals or "laboratory" grade, I don't think adding them to the loot table outside of those wouldn't be awful, even at a reduced percentage compared to the other materials just to open the bottleneck up a little bit.
Not really needed though, i ran out because at the start of the game i was wasting them instead of making new steel parts, if you check the friendly dumpster he has a good chance to drop them and the putty itself when your car is damaged.
