[BUG] Can't Open Tinker Station to Fix Quirks

7 hours in on my 2nd save file. I was using it 2 hours in on my 1st file. Unfortunately, that file disappeared so I had to restart. Noticed it early on, but assumed it was because I hadn't developed any quirks.

You are not alone!

I'm having the same issue. I never got the tutorial quest for the tinker station. I'm almost inside the 3rd wall zone with the tinker station upgrades unlocked but can't access the tinker station itself. I had the game open while afk for the first 12 or so hours the game came out. Updating to the latest patch doesn't seem to fix. Very frustrating.

Haven't seen anyone with the issue,
but might be something simple.

Have you parked your car properly on the parking space so that status screen works
Have you interacted with the status screen so you get a list of prep before going off on a run items ?

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure if I've interacted with the status screen on this save file. I'll try that tonight & report back.

I found this too, but then it opened up after a few runs, I went on the sierran mission too first, so it might need a bit to prompt but you get a prompt to do it when you can.

Huh, on my first save file I never got a prompt to use it. Just knew what it was for by reading online. That mission is when I developed my first quirk, tho. On this save file I'm in the mid zone, have quirks, and still can't use it.

Just tried interacting with the status screen, all it did was tell me to check the friendly dumpster. Tinker station still no worky Thanks for trying to help, tho.

Cant interact with the tinker station and im 15 hours in, finally decided to just disable them since i cant get rid of them.

I had to do the same. It's a bummer since I really enjoyed troubleshooting them on my last file.

It's 2025 and this bug is still there.. Best solution is to disable all quirks and replace all car parts I guess.. Unless.. You want to start a new save file.
