No steering quirk?
I don't know if I should bug report or if this is a quirk but I'm stuck in the deep end and my car has stopped responding to the steering wheel. Not exactly something I can troubleshoot in the field, so... is this just an end game status or a glitch?

No, it's none of those issues, unfortunately. Its like if the car was stuck in molasses. The game crashed again this time, so I'm leaning towards bug... but I also have seen no way to report bugs now that I've looked, so...
Dunno if this link will be allowed but :

pacific drive has it's own site with a support FAQ bit, at the bottom of it you can submit a bug report. There might be a discord as well for bug reports.

the deep end? Where's that? if you get out of car and look someplace nice and flat, then press T, it should teleport your car there, assuming it's just stuck against a tree on a hill or something and you have charge left.
*zone, typo after a long day. I've tried warping it, it's still just not responding to the steering wheel. Really hoping its a glitch.

Are/Were you perchance on a hill? The game takes hills really stupidly, if you lose traction it causes an unnatural push force to turn your car and your wheel turning becomes completely irrelevant, you also can't properly go forward until the game decides you've been turned enough or hit flatter ground. Only way to fix is to get the car to turn around or to use the warp function.

someone else reported a glitch where the car glides along the ground after an exploding bunny hits it. Did an exploding bunny hit your car?
I was struck by a meteor and then blew up a tour bus, but all tires are still good and engine has no conditions.

Unfortunately not.

However, the game did crash as I continually tried to teleport the car. So, perhaps this was a performance issue over all. I doubt the devs would make such a brutal quirk.
Happened again right at the last checkpoint of the Anomaly barricade which honestly just ruins the fun of that mission. The steering wheel stops responding and the car just crawls along the ground, so it can't possibly be a quirk. Those don't affect two systems at once, right?
Additionally, the "turning" that does happen makes the whole car shift in that direction instead of pivoting. Which feels more glitchy than quirky.

There's also car quirks that make it brake.

You're probably getting hit by one of the exploding bunnies, even if you have the shield on, there's a bug where if they hit it basically kills your speed and turning.

same problem here, 3 times so far, only in the deep zone caused by any kind of explosion. Removing all parts didn't fix but making it back home by orienting the car straight into the portal fixes it albeit only until you get blown up in the deep zone again. I'm thinking we bug report

Had the same bug. Car hit by exploding bunny in deep zone and lost steering completely.

Luckily managed to slide the damn thing slowly to the exit.

Thank god it's not just me. I figured there was no way it was a quirk since it pretty much just ruins your chances of getting out. Have you had any luck sprinting towards the portal and teleporting your car pointing to it when you get there? Considering trying that next time. It seems faster to go on foot than to struggle with the car the whole way there.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Had exactly the same thing happen after hit with the exploding bunny. Reported bug as well. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

I think it is a quirk. Try in the tinker station: Radio, Stays Off, Steering Wheel, Turns Right.
