SECRET ENGINE HIDDEN NEAR END OF THE GAME

Near the end of the game if you look on the right side basically behind where your car is standing you will see shocked tourists and if you kick one a chain reaction will go off that makes a Gold Star Lim-Chipped Engine drop from the sky.

And what makes the gold stared items so special? ALL I see is the inability to repair them and the massively reduced durability (About 1/3 of normal)

@Midnight No, not at the gargage.
It's towards the very end of the game about 5 minutes before the ending and gold stars are actually way more durable compared to regular tools and parts! The only issue is you cannot repair them

Because it is At the very End when you are walking through the hallway full of tvs and hear the voices of your friends in the Zone begging you to return from wherever you are. And after walking through that part you find your car standing there in the middle of a weird cave-like room but on the right side basically behind the car is the secret that is very intentionally placed. I might make a video on this to share it with people and that should allow me to see if the loot stays the same but I am 99% sure everyone gets the engine there.

So I guess everyone gets a random peculiar "end-game" part. Wish I had gotten that engine because nitro boost is a completely useless part.

I've only got ONE useful part out of all the peculiar items and it was a freaking HEADLIGHT! Everything else has been steel this, crude that... Or a roof mounted battery when I don't use them... >.<

Yeah I feel you. Best peculiars I got in my 60+ hours game were side rack batteries.

For those that didn't get an engine drop it may be due to chain reaction not working right. I could see looking up away from car, above where you kick the first dummy, you can see the engine on the edge with electro dummy behind it. Used flare to get dummy to pop and drop engine. Sorry if I don't describe it well enough, I have a screenshot but I don't know how to post it here.

Also, I used one of the backup saves to get to the start of end area so I could get the engine since I missed it. \AppData\Local\PenDriverPro\Saved\SaveGames

In my case what I could see on the ledge was evidently a nitro boost.

If you need a lim-chipped engine you can just research and craft it.
