Report a translation problem
The exits unlock after you've done the portal exit. So you have to travel to a place once, 'defeat' it by getting out of it through a gateway. Next time you go back to that place, the exits will be unlocked so you can progress further each run you do. So you can only go as far as you've unlocked, pushing one junction further each time. This is partly why you'll want to unlock the Highways as well (the junctions with the shield icon) because they can skip you one or two junctions at times.
