Off-road Tire VS All Terrain Tire
So i just finish "Little Request" quest and after travel 2 location i got well enough unstable Anchor to upgrade Off-road to All Terrain. But when i compare stats of both tire, myself think Off-road tire still better then all terrain . Since All terrain did is upgrade Road Rating from B>A. At this point i around nearly 20 hours playtime and i pretty sure that we bearly driving on road. So this upgrade is not worth (for me atleast) . What is everyone think ?

ive played thru the game without the supposed "upgrade", dem offroad tires and abit of nitro keept me going like a champ in all situations. bit wierd upgradepath the dev choose there i guess if the marked stats is to be believed, but oh well most of the upgrades are to put it mildly out of reach within the lifespan of this game, i played very slowly cautiosly without rushing and still couldnt afford rooflights alongsite a few other items i would liked to have tested but never could. wich basicly points towards the whole tech progression beeing rather quirky. felt abit stuck on one "techlevel" for the whole game basicly after getting armored parts and the second engine.

Well since you take it slow and not get yourself into a risky situation, i can see why you dont see those upgrade is relevant. Since i dont care about "go through the storm and come out in one piece" because there are a chance the red storm review a ARDA supplies pod and some time unstable gateway may give me a off road map. I can just B-line from one road to other road without losing control of the car

I've been using two off roads in front and two puncture proof in back, there might be a better combo but so far this has done what I needed it too

After looking through all the options as I unlock them I find the offroads the best overall option due to the ratings on them, sure its a B on the roads but that's not really an issue since majority of the time I am offroad taking shortcuts between points or when I need to b-line to an exit that is not directly straight line via road.

Hardly have issue with going through the water either with them, just a slight slowdown, which is countered by taking the thinnest cut through or going around it a little.

In my current playthrough I have found no reason to upgrade beyond the off road tyres. Incredibly durable, excellent on and off road traction, this should have been the last tyre you unlocked.

I'm using offroad. They were easy to make and the slight improvement in AT tires just doesn't seem to worth the effort.

Wanna try the powered ones though.

Major difference is it seems your max speed on a terrain is dictated by the tire's rating on it. So all off roads, with the basic engine, only really reaches 40 mph without anything assisting. Thats not super fast, but maybe you don't wanna go fast anyways, considering how much garbage is on the road.

I definitely feel like offroad is the best. High rating for dirt and mud and such, which is when you need grip, and the B rating for roads doesn't really matter because... they're roads. And let's be honest, how often are you actually going to be traipsing through water? Even then, you're not exactly crippled by being in water, and there's usually another way to reach where you want to go anyway.

I just wish the offroad tyres had some better protection. Mine are constantly going flat or loose even when nothing much has happened. That's the only reason I'm even considering the puncture proof tyres.

Interesting I've had less puncture with my off road tyres than my regular ones. This also depends how you drive there are a number of anomalies that absolutely destroy your tyres.

AT 100%. They cost so little and last for ages. A rating on ALL terrains? Feels good.

I drive with two off-road and two all terrain tyres. Every run recently has had at least two punctures or loose tyres and it is always the offroad ones that get hit. Was starting to think that I must be missing some game mechanic or maybe a quirk that sabotage the tyres or something. Maybe I should just go all terrain.

i only use all terrain, need the extra speed on the roads

you can look at the stats when youre crafting and see that all terrain tires have more health actually!

I used offroads for the longest time but then switched to puncture-proof ones as I would always get a blow out on the offroad tires at some point. The stages with unstable and corrupt anchors have so much acid damage (hot dust and cough boxes are everywhere even when you go out of your way to avoid spots with acid anomalies like belching barnacles) that you burn through tires like crazy.

Sure, the car was a bit harder to handle when going fast on rough terrain but the last thing I wanted to happen was a tire getting blown out while I am going for a gateway or something.

Once you hit the middle zone, I think that all-terrain will win out.

As for off-roads going flat... I've mostly had that happen after using them for a while (around the point where they go bald).
