Tourists give you stuff
I noticed that when some tourists spawn behind me, they always drop random items. Those range from Fabric or Plastic to straight up Stable Anchors.

Yeah, I had some drop medkits and tools on me. Now I think about all the tourists I have blown up to pieces in my 30 hours.

Do you feel like a hero yet?

Hero? No.
Now, more convinced that most of the people who were trapped in the Exclusion Zone were transformed into sewerslide-bomb mannequins - perhaps their hearts became ThermoSap Crystals. It could be that they explode because many of those crystals are unstable in some way and are highly sensitize, akin to nitrogen triiodide or acetone peroxide.

That's actually really cool. I assumed this thread was talking about the crystals they sometimes drop upon explosion, but it would explain why three repair putty was randomly thrown at me last mission. (I did not see any tourists close by, though, and early day so I should have been able to see them.)

I've always wondered if you left a door open on your car if they would get in and sit next to you if you looked away

That would be an interesting event and by interesting, I mean "Code Brown."

Perhaps I should walk up to one and just turn around and wait a minute

I actually noticed something. Not sure how accurate this is or if it's even a real thing, but here we go: "friendly" tourists that give you stuff and don't surround you even after you turn your back to them, stay in more friendly poses — waving, staying on lookout, saluting, etc; the aggressive tourists are using more dramatic poses — reaching to the sun, holding their heads in pain, lowering their heads. You know, like the greek statues do.

This requires some more investigation.

I'm definitely going to start paying more attention to that from now on, you might be on to something

Actually the zone will also just randomly drop stuff near you, I’ve had a couple times where I’ve had whole anchors drop behind me and in front of me, one of them was a corrupted one too when I got to the deep

I've had 4 car doors fly past my head at insane speeds when there was a superstorm near me.

I'm not sure. There is an add on the radio where someone is selling crash test dummies, a buy one get one half off deal. The add seemed to suggest the guy had a tone of them.

Once had a tourist unload six spare tires at me. At first it was a real freakout moment, as I thought some new anomaly was out there chucking tires at me. (I was still new to the game.)

I've had this happen without the tourists. It really is unsettling as all hell
