Suggestion: Option to disable tool durability.
i like survival crafters but i never like the 3 steps forward 1 step back mechanic of tools constantly falling apart, this game has so many gameplay options but tool durability is not one of them, would be nice to have :/

Some of them do break to fast. For example having to make 2 or 3 repair putties to fix your car. Having unlimited uses of tools would break the game however. Gather resources why.

I think some things would get really unbalanced if they had infinite durability (the repair blowtorch, for instance) but the scrapper, hammer, and prybar at least are so cheap that it feels they may as well be infinite and could probably lose no durability without changing the balance too badly.

invulnerability breaks the game, but it is a option. thats why its options. i just want options.

and resource gathering you still do plenty for upgrades of car, garage and clothes.

I get your frustration and maybe I'm a bit of a masochist because it doesn't bother me as it's always expected in a survival game so I'm used to it a guess. Since we can easily craft new Tools on the go, it's not a terribly big problem, just a minor inconvenience.

Disabling tool durability would completely negate later upgrades, which have massive amounts of durability.

later tool upgrades are still quicker or easier to use. also i talk about a option.

you guys ever looked at the gameplay options and how much they actually DO break the game?

I'm not saying they shouldn't add the option. Just saying it would ruin the games design. Same way as saving anywhere or throwing on player invulnerably goes against the intended experience.

I don't think it needs to be disabled. I think upping tool durability NEEDS to be a research option. There needs to be an ingame way to up their use time FAR more.

I could understand the idea of maybe 2 tier 3rd tier tools lasting a super long time.

but having infintie durability would basically defeat the purpose of having tools to begin with. since the tools are made with scrap to get more scrap that can make better tools that can get scrap better.

whats the point in upgrading if your tier one scrap saw is infinite?

speed, all the higher tier stuff is also faster.

also as i said many times: optional. why are people so against options when we have so many options already?

I would personally say that all the basic tools are so cheap and can be easily replaced during a run. Also don't fall into the trap of using repair party it's a huge waste of resources. If a panel or door is completely destroyed just get a new one from the friendly dumpster or put it in the regenerator.
