Glad OPs kids won't go hungry.

Personally didn't effect me because you can still just pause it. As long you're fine with leaving the game running then it's not much of an issue but I agree that it'd be nice to see.

Its a short run roguelike, lots of them dont have in mission saves. Its not a big deal and certainly completely unsurprising if you have ever played a roguelike before. You are looking at 40 mins or so for a single run and if you blow it you lose the resources for that run because well, its a roguelike and you cant save midrun. You dont actually lose story progress or anything. You just do not keep the resources you gathered on a failed run as the escape protocol only brings the car. Its not like you cant save at all and every time you play you have to restart from scratch. You just cant save during the run because, well its a roguelike survival game and that is how they work.

Don't fuel the fire for the fanboys in this forum who can't accept other opinions and feel superior because they play a game 10 hours a day but nothing else works for them in the rest of their lives. That won't get you far here. Just leave and never look back <3

I think personally I’m less bothered about saves more about immersion. If I quit or whatever and lose resources then all good, but when I return is it the same stuff I pass by driving again or does it change if I return? That could start to feel cheap and annoying if it’s same stuff. Like you wasted your time and life previously lol.

Just little tiny bits or changes (like in a big bag there are 2 screws instead of bulbs) - watched a lot of streams and It was like the same everytime with tiny expections.

Saves done in Garage and on gates to other zone after travel to the new zone.
Save on exit would be nice, yes.

Random Q but what’s that game when you hover over your profile pic with all the people walking around?

I see… in that case there’s going to be a lot of “playtime” recorded for this game from people pausing and getting on with other stuff and returning.
Notes also im not sure it actually pauses the world but there’s an option under accessibility I think I saw where you can toggle that.

Yes that is correct it has 10 hours between saves. Lol what a clown.
It jas around 20 to 40 mins between saves, 40 mins being if you are stupid slow and it is a very easy map were there is no storm.

Not EVERY game has to be for you, the sense of entitlement is overpowering thay because a dev has made a game that does not sit well with your style of playing you are angry about it, that is some strange behaviour.

I play stardew valley, a really popular indie game and not saving for 20 to 30 mins is not unusual.
And before you say, well that is an easy game, skull cavern is more difficult than anything in this game, so far.

Well each venture into the anomaly zone is procedurally generated because the zone is in a state of constant flux (this is essentially the storyline of the game). The game saves in stable areas unaffected by the instability. When you enter the zone it generates the level on entry according to the various effects each anomaly zone can have (There is a big map you discover new routes on and each route has its own set of hazards etc). You can not stop and save in the middle of an exploration run, each run is about 45 mins. So yes, each run into an anomaly zone is procedurally generated. But since you cannot save during a run and will only get to save again when you return, you wont get to see the same zone twice as quitting mid run is a failure and the next time you enter the zone it will generate a new level for you to explore.

So the stable areas like the garage will always be the same. But the zone itself will be procedurally generated each time.

The idea is if you are going to play the game set aside about 45 mins or so you can finish a run in one sitting.

Sure you cant save during those 45 mins but its not the end of the world, of something urgent comes up the game does let you pause.

The strange behaviour for some actually might be the devs. Games are sold for consumption right and to make sales blah. They’ve isolated a demographic in a sense so that is really what is the strange thing. It does make you question competence and there appears to be enough people calling for it to be acknowledged. I’m not one of them but I get it.

Great info then my previous comment is moot. Meh on the saves. For me personally anyway.
