question about car hud.
What are those 3 indicator by the battery meter? There red number, yellow number then a XD icon. I must had missed what those mean.

The headlight indicator is to tell you when they are on, so you know when they are draining the battery.

XD means headlights are off.
≡D means headlights are on.

I think you might be right that the indicator is there in case the lights get broken. Idk if they can still draw power when broken, but it'd be a problem to have them draining battery power with no visual indication, in which case the icon would be very helpful.

I just tested and when I remove my headlights and switch them on, the indicator light still works the same, so I bet this is the case ans they can still draw power when broken. I didn't have time to sit and watch to see if that's actually the case, but it's probably best to assume it is.

I got both my lights shorted and they did still draw power so it is indeed a case, also allows to visually check if you're light are working from inside a car, without a need to turn them off and on again.
