I been watching this game and not sure if it's a bug.
A player I been watching is unable to turn their car while driving. It barely turns like it's stiff.

'maybe' a quirk, depends how far they are, and how unlucky. But also not sure if the quirks can have a perfectly measured outcome on say, steering direction 100% of the time.

Car turns Like a 90 y/o hooker watched a Lot of streams cause i was hyped but canceled my pre order right away after watching some non bought streamers giving their honest opinion. In ITS current state its just bad and only for fanboys who want to defend crap.

So making the sole purpose of travel which is the car and making the game unplayable is intended? Is that what I'm getting from you?

Stay you are driving and you turn your wheel, but the car doesn't turn and just goes straight. You barely see it budge to the side you are turning too. You say it may be intended?

Don't have experience with steering wheel quirks. So its just as likely to be it, as it is to be whoever you were watching actually pushing the turning all the way. Heard that currently a wheel is not supported for the game as well. Without more information from whoever your source is or direct demonstration its really hard to say anything on the matter and drawing conclusions from my post would be a bit foolish.

Anyway. What kind of quirks are in the game? Are they just random debuffs or stuff you have to deal with in a area you traveling through?

Quirks are semi random effects your car develops. They're only triggered by something else. So in this case the structure might be 'Car - Goes Fast > Steering Wheel - Wobbles' or something like that, theres no specific quirk that would indicate this behavior, so either it is indeed a bug, a control conflict/problem, or quirks related to the steering wheel are more detrimental than strange only.

Majority of quirks are just small little effects, the first one I had would open the hood anytime I went in reverse, it didn't really do anything bad, because the hood closed after I stopped going in reverse, but it was there.

I can assure you if you are buying this game for a "driving game" you will be so disappointed. You are almost always driving on rough surfaces and the car is usually carrying some damage or quirk that makes driving awkward.

This is more of a junker survival game. You are struggling with the steering a lot.

At least that is my take after what 7-8 hours of playing.

I am absolutely loving the game but I dont care about "driving" its more about survival crafting for me.

I had this problem after changing my steering sensitivity to 40. Once I put it back to default, I was able to turn again.

Probably a bug with a quirk. It seemed odd when I seen it happen.

I think I'll get this game. I like mindlessly drooling while collecting resources.

I just realised one of my tyres was a spare and changed it to a summer tyre. Much better handling now.
