I see one patch that said mouse keys werent bindable. Then the next patch they said they were, but it still does nothing for me. Sigh.
Edit: Crazy, I just loaded up the game again and right mouse is moving forward! Now I just have your problem, im throwing everything Im holding. Theres a drop item button thats keyed to X. Is that different than throw item?
Even worse, you can't work around it by binding a secondary key as forward because, for some deranged reason, there is no secondary for forward. They confusingly use forward/back as one setting, and the primary is one direction, and the secondary is another.
I tried looking for an .ini file containing the binds in the appdata folder, but it does not exist. It may be embedded in the game save file.
I'm liking the game, and want to support the devs, so I'm not refunding it. I'll just put it aside until it's, hopefully, fixed. I also ran into the game breaking bug in the garage that occurs if you do any of the tutorial actions before being prompted, and can't finish prepping the car. So I'm back at the point where I teleported into the area just before the garage, because the game is not saved until you complete the garage tutorial.
I'll let the game simmer and stew for a few weeks and check back. If anyone finds a workaround for the bind issue before the devs fix it, please post.
And yeah, I'm an old gamer. I think it was the original shareware Doom or Duke Nukem 3D that used the right mouse as forward, and I've used that ever since,
Rebinding right mouse to W in logi software worked for me.
You can also do this using a 3rd party app called X-Mouse Button Control, which I've used in the past to work around games that won't allow binding keys to a mouse button, and is probably what I'll do to make it work in this game, although I'm still holding out for a fix.
BTW: This workaround was not possible while the "Throw" function was not bindable, but they seem to have made it bindable in a recent update. However, annoyingly, even with a different key bound to "throw", the right mouse button still throws items no matter what it's bound to.
