Are part lockers broken?
I unlocked the first version of part lockers and I can't figure out if they are working as intended. I can only store 1 item per locker, even though there is a ton of room left in the locker. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Working as intended, I could be wrong but i believe it says something about one part per pod in the log entry

It just seems really silly and a bit of a hassle as well. I would rather just store "car parts" in the regular lockers since they can hold multiple parts. I dont want to have to open a dozen different lockers to find my ♥♥♥♥ or even spend 15 minutes going back and forth between those lockers to swap parts on my car.

Perhaps they make the parts stackable?

use basic organization methods.

for example since they are in rows of like 3 by 5 or whatever make it like doors top row, panels middle row, and wheels bottom row.

you can probably use it to store doubles of any nice parts, so when you return from a run with a destroyed car you can replace them and put the broken parts in the regenerator to repair your things.

I basically just have two sets of car parts in rotation. One set in the regenerator and the other on the car. At this point the lockers are just for storing old engines and rack mods I didnt like/use.

That being said 12 different lockers (for parts lockers) suck. They could have just made it one inventory screen and partitioned it like they do with every other inventory. However these lockers are almost pointless considering I can get a refund on the resources using the deconstructor. Those resources would take up less space in a regular locker. If I could use the remaining space for other parts it wouldn't be so bad... At this point the lockers are a meh f-it storage instead of being something I want to use...

P.S. Also organization isn't a issue I just find the parts lockers dumb in their current state

They don't stack, but they would be more useful if you could stack. Or you know use all the space to throw like 6 headlights in a single locker.

I should make it clear that I have basically 2 main issues with the "Parts Lockers"
1. They only hold a single car part
2. The are all separate instead of being a single inventory screen that is partitioned.

For a comparison a "Expanded item locker" Is "partitioned" and I can fit "multiple" car parts if I choose to use it that way. I can literally fit a engine and a panel in the bottom partition alone. If I use the whole locker I can fit another 2 doors and 2 panels.

Why are "Parts Lockers" bad in comparison?

the pneumatic lockers suck too, because they change it from a grid that is easy to organize to a text based scrolling menu that is hard to organize.

granted. more space, but more tedious.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll get one to try, but I might just skip those too.
(Edit) Better than the "parts locker" if your storing car parts.

the parts locker is fine because you only have to look at a locker to see what's in it without having to open it, making searching for parts incredibly quick and easy

It's still not a good design see my complaints above.

Agreed, I just got the parts lockers and thought they were bugged since it gives you 49 squares yet it was saying it was full with one wheel.... Seems very odd and makes little sense.

you can probably just hold E to grab whatever is in the locker, not sure, haven't really tried them, frankly I just leave all my parts scattered around the garage.

Hold E to take a part out and hold R to put a part in. You don't even need to open the inventory screen, and just looking at each locker tells you what's in it.

I think you are missing the point of op's post. It's not about how to use it, more a case of only being able to place one item in each part despite looking like you should be able to place several items in them. One headlight taking up the same space as an engine or door etc.
