I'd love to just have basic infinite zones to travel to, permadeath on and you just keep going for as long as you can survive. Resources get rarer / anomalies harsher overtime and you go till you die - then get a score based on certain factors e.g distance driven, zones successfully escaped, number of upgrades crafted etc.
Could just be a pipe dream, but I feel likes its plausible if the game does well..?
