Then when you drive you can still choose any route to your destination.
what does the antenna upgrade actually do?
can you always only jump 1 point? like i can only jump to the very next point from the garage and then drive to the second?
That was my confusion, too. My second trip out was to continue the story mission, and it looked like it was one segment past another location, so I clicked *there* first -- wound up returning home when it was done. Ooops! :D
You're mixing up the route planner antenna and actually choosing the route when you reach the gateway.
The route planner is to tell you what's at a location. It lists of all the known anomalies and resources and any modifiers to the area.
Once you pass through the gate is when you actually pick where you want to drive, but if you pick a route different than the one you planned, you won't know what's at the location. Also you have to be careful of reaching a dead end.
