I'll bet you're fun at parties.
Oh no a game about the pacific northwest in the US, a historically liberal location, has *completely optional* bumperstickers, which are also historically things that go on cars. Having played, what, 20 hours? And you likely pirated the game as it doesn't show up on your profile? You seem deep in confirmation bias land. I encourage you to seek external stimulus, other opinions and viewpoints, and challenge your own position. Good luck deprogramming!
Oppy was an excellent character and a very real person. The issue is that the caste of games are usually stocked with heroic archetypes while the supporting caste of Pacific Drive were reflections of very real people dealing with the injustices of their time as well as their own personal failings.
Oppy was not a hero, she was an exception woman caught between bureaucratic and private interests which both harbour implicit resentment towards exceptional people - and given the time period, some implicit resentment towards exceptional woman on top of that.
From a story telling perspective, the issue with Oppy in Pacific Drive was that the conclusion to the story was about her instead of being about the driver or the lim destabilised peninsula. If a DC is ever released which gives closure to the driver, the nature of lim or the fate of the peninsula, this issue will be completely resolved. As is though, the conclusion was an extremely emotional and relatable act of letting go of the past and moving on with life for a side character instead of resolving the situation for America or giving credence to the actions of the hero.
Steam is probably the closest thing they can get to in terms of forums and community of the game, since it was first released to Steam before they made it available for PS5.
But i can understand why you say all this because of them not owning it on STEAM.
That's certainly technically possible but given they already have a steam profile and active playtime on it, buying PD specifically on another platform is a stretch, and very very charitable of you.
There's also a subreddit and discord where complaining about the flags as ragebait would be a much faster lock/delete than here.
I think you're supposed to hate her in the beginning. All of the characters come across as flawed in their own way in the beginning, and ofc Oppy's severity stands out more than the other two.
But she has some reasons for being that way and is being pretty tough and resilient despite it all.
I won't spoil anything for others, but all of the characters grow throughout the story, and their relationships with one another change. It's not always going to be Oppy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the other two, or treating you like a disposable tool. She's no GladOS.
She gives a ♥♥♥♥. But she's also got some heavy walls she's put up, and doesn't want anyone to come in. Pay more attention to her actions than her words or her tone.
I like Oppy's she's great. She's a ♥♥♥♥, but she's great.
