Hey guys,
Hope you're all doing great.

Has anyone tried this game with similar specs? Do you think that I'd be able to get 60 fps(medium/high) on 1080p with the above specs? I can see the requirements, but I'm still on the fence and wondering whether to wait until I get a new PC, kinda want to play the game now lol.

Thanks in advance!

getting 30-60 fps on medium with my 1080 and i7-8700, you could always try it and refund

low looks absolutely terrible btw

Damn man, that's rough :(, guess I'll wait for some patches and see if they improve the performance, hopefully the Steam Deck runs it okay-ish too eventually. If not, guess I'll be playing on a new PC in the future.
I appreciate the reply, take care!

It's almost a crime that low is even an option with how bad it looks.

Take this for what it's worth. I have the Asus G15 Laptop with a 3080 8gb (I hate it, Asus has become junk PC's as of late). If you look up benchmarks the 3080m is ~1% better than the desktop 1080 Ti. That means my GPU is essentially the same as yours but mine runs WAY hotter than your Desktop, which probably hurts my performance over all vs what yours would look like.

The game defaulted all settings to Ultra except the shadow section at the bottom, those defaulted to High. I left it all as it was, just turned on DLSS and the game plays buttery smooth and looks great. It stutters a bit when you use the power hammer thing to break down the plazma tube things, but so far that's it.

Hey, thanks for your input.
Sad to hear such feedback regarding newer Asus tech. I'm using the Asus ROG Strix 1080 Ti and tbh, It's kinda depressing that it's now outdated, since it served me so well and I'll have to replace it soon. Anyways, I decided that I'll get the game these days, because it's such a cool and original concept. Considering how bad/broken and cringe most games are these days, at least these guys are thinking outside of the box and I think they deserve the support. I have faith that the performance will be improved and again, if not, I'll play when I upgrade.

Ryzen 5800x
GTX 1080

At 1920x1080
Low - 70-100 FPS
Medium - 30-50-ish FPS
High/Ultra (both run about the same) - 19-35-ish FPS

The garage runs horrible, in High-Ultra. Hangs around 20 FPS all the time. Goes from 25-35 FPS when actually out and about, though.

Low looks absolutely horrible as there's no shadows at all and lots of pop-in, with low poly models. Medium isn't much better as it has shadows, but the resolution of them is extremely low and some shadows are still missing all together.

Time for a new graphics card, I think, but I'm loathed to spend £600-800 on what is essentially a mid-tier card of today. Graphics cards have got ridiculously expensive :(

I have a very similar (and quickly growing obsolete) system.

GTX 1080 Ti
Intel i5 8400

I've had this 1080 Ti since 2018, and it's been a real trooper. Plan to build a new system this year.

I saw some footage of the low settings and it's basically the reason of this post lol, I did not like it at all and wanted to see if I can run the game above low settings at decent fps. Regarding the pricing, I'm inclined to buy a 4080 for a new build only because it's roughly the same amount that I got my 1080 Ti for, at least in my country. But components overall are now definitely more expensive.....

Kind of funny that the settings that turns shadows off is called "Shadows: Low". They can't be low quality if they literally don't exist. And the devs DO know the word "OFF", DLSS has this option.

I feel you. I have my 1080 Ti since December, 2018. One of my best purchases of all time, no question about it. I'll build a new one too this year, since this is the 3rd game that I find myself researching whether it will run decently on my PC. It's sad that this day came tho'

Haha. I've had the same thoughts. Medium shadows look like the real "Low."

I feel the same about the 1080. It's held out well but Starfield, RoboCop and now Pacific Drive have kicked it's poor butt.

Guess it's time to upgrade guys. I have a Glenfiddich 18 y bottle that I'll open and use to honor our current builds that served us so well. :bms_crowbar:
