Fax Machine

What does it do? i put 3 red files and 1 green one in there, but doesn't seem to do anything or open anything?

where is the fax machine? it seemed to me like it was just dedicated storage for the random notes and crap you find, but i couldn't find it so i put mine in the red toolbox for now lol

It's an unlock in the Garage tab. Just below Detailing Station and Matter Deconstructor.

It's just a storage for lore and messages you find, sometimes it receives messages which you can read, dunno if some lore or secrets are revealed through those.

I would have preferred just a normal in-menu log system for this. It would be cool if you could actually read the notes while they're in the fax machine but it seems (at least to me, I might be wrong) that you have to pull them back into your inventory every time. It's kinda a pain.

There is a VIEW LOGBOOK button prompt when you open the Fax Machine;
Highlight one of the notes and Press and HOLD A button (pad) or right mouse button (or what ever you changed it)

Good news! If you go to the logbook page in the Tab menu, and go to the cassette icon, all of your collected notes (audio and text) are stored in there. The items are basically a link to the entry in your log, and the fax machine is a place to store them once they're discovered and get a little bonus lore from sometimes.

Kinda missed opportunity though. Could have been more immersive like displaying its content on its screen.

Instead, you get random repetitive messages on the screen every time you load the Garage location.
They're kind of funny, kind of creepy, kind of weird.
