Can anyone explain what just happened to me?

I stopped next to a car and heard a crash, a bright thing landed next to the car, and suddenly i was ambushed by every single anomaly and their mother. Fields full of bunnies, tourists, and everything the zone had to throw at me.

I look to the ground and it was a flare I never threw. It came from a completely different direction.

Anyone know what this was?

You might of experienced a Honeypot anomaly, they take the appearance of regular cars and are usually rare which makes their appearance more surprising. They tend to throw flares everywhere then spawn anomalies.

Hope you scanned the car you were investigating lol.

The honeypot I found had almost no missing parts. It’s classified as a resource and not an anomaly so don’t look for it in that section.

Honeypots show up on the resource radar with the anomaly icon so they're not too hard to find when they spawn. They don't always do the flare thing though, one time I got close to one and it spawned an anchor. Not just a sphere, an entire anchor, out of thin air. To my surprise, it wasn't boobytrapped either, it was a legit anchor spawn.

Are you sure that was a honeypot? Sometimes the zone throws random things at you and this includes anchors. I've had a corrupted anchor thrown at my head before by the zone's random item giving and I was in the mid zone lol.

I've had anchor spheres thrown at me too, but when I approached the honeypot, what looked like white foam started to appear nearby and when it receded an anchor point remained. Not just the sphere, the entire apparatus

that just seems to me to happen randomly, I see white bubbles then, thus far, either a pneumatic tube site or an anchor point has formed at that spot
