Anchors, to take or not to take them?
I understand that you need anchor energy to go back to the garage and all. But am I screwing myself over by taking every anchor I see? Am I giving junctions high instability with extreme conditions (the orange areas in the route map) by collecting so many anchors?
Will I get more stable junctions if I stop taking anchors? The only times where I find junctions with Perpetual Stability nowadays are in mission zones. My current route map is peppered with orange, it pretty much dictates if I can or can't do story missions at the time.

Note that I'm not talking about the anomalies that spawn around the anchor when you take them. I'm talking about the orange areas in the route map.

I will take anchors in the easier zones to prepare for a quick exit if needed in the harder zones. So I look at the map and grab just enough anchor energy for the most expensive zone along my route.

the anchors are currency so thats the main reason to take them, they are currency for both getting home and upgrading once you are home, if you don't grab more than you need the you wont' have any way to upgrade. I don't think they have any affect on any sort of stability of the zone outside of the spawning of an anomaly when you take them.

Also why would an area being orange stop you from doing anything? You don't need to spend much time in any zone. If you're looking for loot just build a loot radar, 5 mins in a zone and your car will be filled from loot truck jumping. And orange places aren't that dangerous tbh so don't be afraid of them.

I have never timed it, but it feels to me that the more anchors you grab and the more stuff you loot will cause the radiation instability storm to come sooner....

I'm nearly 100% sure the only thing that affects the storms speed is either conditions on the zone itself before you get there and triggering the exit. It also wouldn't matter because it takes like 15 mins max if you're looting and grabbing anchors

I always deprive each junction i see from anchors, i like to leave my car a good distance from the anchor itself so it won’t be ambushed, so I just grab it and run like hell! It doesn’t increase the difficulty at all, just be prepared for a surprise attack

I help every Junction free itself from the Anchor Menace!

i also try to get all anchors in any zone i pass through, and some loot if its close buy

But i also notice that when i go thru a zone i need to cross to get to another zone, and try to get loot or stuff, then always after about 3-5 minutes , thers a zone warning and a yellow circle is closing in on me so i need to get out to tehy next zone.

so i wonder if its on purpose by teh developers force a timer on a inbetween junction zone, so peopel dont use there leisure to empty that zone , any idees ?

I tend to grab every anchor I go past and in the early game I used to grab everyone I could. It is your research currency but when you've unlocked most of the stuff it's not really worth grabbing. It's always nice to have spare though for quirks hints and trading it for car accessories

Just be mindful of where you've parked and what the map looks like. Some anchors will look like they're right on top of each other, but might be on opposite ends of a cliff. Some of them will be unreasonably far from your exit in terms of fuel consumption or damage, especially if a squall is passing over them.

There's also the Barely Plugged condition, which starts to collapse the zone as soon as you pull an anchor.

Anchors cause more instability if you take them. Things get weird with them gone.

I dont know if the reverse is true for corrupted or instable energies
Driverben Mar 4, 2024 @ 6:04pm
The zone gets more unstable the more anchors you take, aka more anomalies will spawn. I'm pretty sure every zone has a set timer before the storm moves in, unless it has the "perpetual stability" I forget the exact name. If the zone has perpetual stability you basically have free reign over the zone.
If I have time or not worried about getting tossed around by anomalies I always try and get as many anchors as possible for the sake of upgrades.
did you know that you can invest in a machine that can literally change the intersection color? i mean u dont like a intersection?(it means orange extreme conditions)*click* change it all to hopefully pacefully or more time to be in
grab the anchor with the bigger of radius if youre out of time. in my experience those anchors bring out alot of KLim. the smallest ones are only like 0,3 Klim while the biggest ones can reach 4 Klim
